One of the great things about live poker is that players get to travel all over the world. Lord knows, there is a swarm of poker events running all year long all across the globe. There are a few locations that stand out, however. Enjoying a live poker adventure in an exotic environment truly is a pinnacle of life.
One of those locations is Malta. The subtropical-Mediterranean island has been a paradise for poker players for years, and thank God, things aren’t looking to change anytime soon. In fact, multiple significant events are running in Malta for the remainder of the year. Considering poker enthusiasts’ vast interest in traveling to the exotic island and experiencing the poker adventure of a lifetime, let’s break down the remainder of the 2025 Malta poker calendar.
SiGMA Poker Festival (September 2-7)

Currently, there are no less than five big live poker events in Malta that will still be played in 2025. The goal of poker.pro is to break them all down so that you, the players, can determine which events suit you the best.
First out is the 2025 SiGMA Poker Festival. Running September 2-7, the event seeks to fuse poker tournaments with conferences, affiliate meetups, and overall networking opportunities. In terms of poker, however, the €400 Main Event highlights the schedule. With a €150,000 guarantee and seven starting flights prior to the Day 2 final, this tournament should attract its fair share of entries. The €220 Hendon Mob Championship (commonly referred to as THMC) is also on the schedule, offering players an opportunity to capture the prestigious and unique THMC flag for their profile on the world’s biggest live poker database that is The Hendon Mob.
The Festival Malta (September 15-21)

Next up is The Festival Malta. Created by Martin “Franke” Von Zweigbergk, The Festival Series has been running in various locations since 2021, and it’s growing bigger and better with every event. While the schedule is yet to be finalized, the series is known for being heavy on the Mixed Games; in other words, this is the perfect live poker event for the player who enjoys games such as H.O.R.S.E, Sviten Special, Razz, Open Face Chinese, and many more niche games. That being said, the €550 Main Event is played as good ol’ Texas NLH. Just like is the case with the SiGMA Poker Tour, the €250 THMC is a part of The Festival tournament schedule, which includes more than 20 unique events.
EPT Malta (October 1-12)

Presumably, the EPT Malta will be the most hyped event on the fairytale island this year. After a nine-year hiatus, the EPT (abbreviation for European Poker Tour) makes its Maltese return. Belarussian Aliaksei Boika won the €5,300 Main Event back in 2016. Perhaps he will return to defend his title almost a decade later. The schedule is already out, with the Main Event going down October 6-12.
Malta Poker Festival (October 26-November 3)

The Malta Poker Festival will be hosted at Portomaso Casino. The €550 Main Event – or, as it’s referred to as by the organizers, the Grand Event – is a four-day affair with eight starting day flights. The first flight, Day 1a, will be played on October 26; it’s a special prize, meaning the buy-in on this particular flight is lowered to €400. Besides the Grand Event, players can enjoy games such as Sviten Special, H.O.R.S.E, and 8-Game. Just as is the case with SiGMA Poker Festival and The Festival, a €220 THMC is apparent on the schedule.
Battle of Malta (October 28-November 5)

Last but not least, the Battle of Malta has a €2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool across the festival. To be correct, this is the autumn edition of the festival; during the spring version in April, Polack Adrian Ziemichod won the €600 Main Event for €120,000, the biggest cash so far in the career of this poker prodigy.
The Main Event structure for the autumn edition is fairly similar to the previous spring affair; it’s a five-day tournament with nine starting flights. A cool touch is that the chip leader of each Day 1-flight receives a €1,500 package for the spring edition of the 2026 Battle of Malta. What’s more, the tournament schedule features the €450 Mystery Siege of Malta. Few things can beat the thrill of a live poker mystery bounty, and this golden nugget of a tournament is sure to attract its fair share of contestants.
If there ever was any doubt whether there would be poker action in Malta this autumn or not, that discussion should now be settled. It’s the island that never sleeps, and it has become the ultimate poker destination for a reason. All poker players are bound to have a good time in Malta, combining top-class poker tournaments with a vibrant nightlife and an exotic environment. The excitement for the upcoming poker autumn in Malta is thrilling, to say the least.
