It’s official. Canadian poker legend Ari Engel has just etched his name atop yet another piece of poker history. With a cash in Event #54: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, Engel notched his 598th World Series of Poker (WSOP) cash, surpassing longtime record-holder “Miami” John Cernuto to become poker’s all-time cashing king.

From grinders to GOAT: Engel now stands alone.
The New #1 in All-Time WSOP Cashes
While the cash amount from Event #54 is still to be finalized, the milestone itself is indisputable—Ari Engel now holds the most tournament cashes of any player in history.
This isn’t some padded online stat either. Engel’s record includes a wild mix of live bracelet events, online bracelets, WSOP Circuit rings, and deep runs across every variant the WSOP throws at him.
He’s a purebred grinder, and now he’s the top dog in terms of consistency and longevity.
A Career Full of Hardware
Engel isn’t just cashing min-runs and taking the money—he wins. Often.

He’s already the record-holder for most WSOP Circuit Rings with 19 titles, adding two more this year alone during the WSOP.com PA and MI Online Circuits. And that’s before we even mention his four bracelets, including:
- 2019 WSOP Event #48 – $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em
- 2021 WSOP Event #9 – $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 Championship
- +2 WSOP Online Bracelets
His resume also includes over $9 million in live earnings, topped by a massive $1.12M win in the 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event, and he currently ranks 11th on Canada’s All-Time Money List.
Two Decades of Success
So, how does someone stay relevant—and dominant—for 20 years?
Engel says it best himself:
“I have a really good attitude, but I think it’s a little unfair because I run really well. Everything’s great when you win your flips. That’s a big part of it and can’t be ignored. I’m not discounting that I’m a good player, but I’ve done very well when it’s counted.”
And what keeps him coming back after hundreds of cashes, titles, and near-misses?
“I love the competition of poker. I love that race, religion, nationality, sex, or any of that stuff doesn’t make a difference. It also doesn’t make a difference who you know, your parents know, or even if you iron your clothes on any given day.”

Record-Breaking Cashes by the Numbers

Here’s a quick look at some of Engel’s 19 WSOP Circuit Ring victories, showcasing just how versatile—and tenacious—this Canadian icon really is:

That’s just a sample. The full list includes everything from mixed games to online six-max shootouts, proving Engel’s dominance isn’t limited to any format or location.
What’s Next?
With his 598th WSOP cash in the books, Engel likely isn’t done just yet.
He’s been a mainstay at the 2025 WSOP, continuing to grind through the toughest fields, softest games, and longest hours—all with his signature humble energy.
Whether it’s a $100 Circuit ring or a $10K Championship event, Ari Engel shows up, competes hard, and finds a way to win. And now, he can officially call himself the most consistent casher in WSOP history.
A living legend—and still adding to the story.
