Meanwhile, the first of two opening flights in the €555 NLH Championship attracted 79 runners on Monday to add €37,525 to the prize pool. Sweden’s Max Jafaripour leads the way after parlaying his opening 30,000 in chips to a cool 200,000, with Latvia’s Sergejs Piratovs (193,000) and poker coach and streamer Matīss Celmiņš (179,000).

Kaspars Terauds Wins €200 PLO4/PLO5

The €200 PLO4/PLO5 was the only event to award a trophy on Monday. The event attracted 39 runners, adding €6,299 to the prize pool.

The final six players agreed to a rare six-way chop after Latvia’s Juris Šaicāns hit the rail empty-handed in seventh place. Latvia’s Kaspars Terauds won the trophy and banked €1,299. Meanwhile, five other players, most from Latvia, earned €1,000, including Finland’s runner-up, Jukka Juvonen. Local players Niklāvs Žindulis, Oskars Bērziņš, Kaspars Renga, and 2026 OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Spring Edition side event champion Garijs Rožkalns, also were part of the deal, earning a cool grand.

Max Jafaripour Leads €555 NLH Championship

The €555 NLH Championship was the first of the marquee events to kick off on Monday, with 79 entries getting into the mix, with Day 1b kicking off on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The field and prize pool will continue to grow after that with late registration open for this event for the first two 40-minute blinds levels on Wednesday’s second and final day.
