Everyone Hates A Freeroll!

The expression “Everyone Loves a Chop Pot” is a popular one in poker and some even wear a t-shirt bearing these words. The saying was coined by poker commentator and comedian Joe Stapleton and became a running joke between him and co-commentator James Hartigan during streaming coverage of PokerStars Live events. It works because it’s ironic, as there’s usually one person in every chop pot who absolutely hates it.

Unlike chop pots, freerolls are not so polarizing. Everyone hates them. Nobody wants to play for zero entry fee, with a chance to win some cash. Not even those who have done in the last remnants of their bankrolls and have nothing left to give, but still desire to play more poker. Those people can’t stand freerolls.

People who are new to the game hate them too. They’d prefer to make a deposit straight off the bat, to decide if they like the game, rather than play something that’s free and pays real money prizes. It’s absolutely not for these people either.

And those people who try to do $0 to $1,000 bankroll challenges, nah, they’re definitely not interested in them either, they loathe freerolls with a passion not seen since PokerStars changed its loyalty program.

It’s even worse when there’s free entries to prestigious live events thrown in as prizes, who would ever want that? Absolutely nobody. It’s a wonder sites persist with them at all, given how universally hated the free money format is.

In fact there’s just nothing to like about freerolls at all, but as it’s not ironic, nobody would ever wear a t-shirt bearing the stone cold gospel truth, that there ain’t nothing worse than a game you don’t have to pay your way into. Or would they?

Freeroll News For Weirdos Who Actually Like Freerolls

As everyone hates freerolls, the following freeroll news will be of no interest to anyone other than a few weirdos. Move along, nothing to see here.

Most poker sites offer freerolls for their customers, commonly for new account holders and depositing players, but sometimes they are elevated to become more significant promotions. That’s exactly what’s happening at WPT Global right now as the site is awarding a huge amount of free prize money via the $2m Crazy Freeroll Series.

WPT Global’s $2m Crazy Freeroll Series

The WPT Global $2m Crazy Freeroll Series has been running since August 18th and continues until November 2nd, with $160,000 per awarded per week via freerolls. There are $10,000 Daily Crazy Freerolls Monday to Saturday, while on Sundays the Super Crazy Freeroll with $100,000 takes place. The Daily Crazy Freerolls award $2,000 to the winner and the top 20 in each of these dailys earn a seat into Sunday’s Super Crazy Freeroll.

How to Get Tickets for the $2m Freeroll Series

There’s an ongoing promotion whereby players get a few free tickets for the Crazy Daily freerolls dropped into their accounts each week, but can earn more tickets via additional freerolls, by meeting wagering requirements or via WPT Global’s refer a friend program.

WPT Global Refer a Friend

The latter of these routes has been tailored specially for this promotion. Called the Exclusive Friends Group, it awards a 100% bonus to referrers when a player they referred cashes in one of these freerolls. There are also bonus Super Crazy Freeroll tickets awarded to the top 500 Exclusive Friends Group leaders, every week while promotion is running.

There are still three Super Crazy Freerolls left during the $2m Freeroll Series, with the remaining editions taking place on 19th & 26th October and the final one on November 2nd, 2025. For those who have not yet opened an account with WPT Global, there’s an even easier way in, as new accounts making a deposit will receive a (free obviously, it’s a freeroll) entry into the $100,000 Super Crazy Freeroll. Terms and conditions apply, for full Ts & Cs visit WPT Global.
