The tournament schedules for the next two Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) festivals have now been revealed. The first of these is GUKPT Edinburgh, which runs 9-19 October at the Grosvenor Maybury Casino in the Scottish capital. GUKPT Blackpool, the penultimate event for the 2025 tour, takes place 2-9 November.
Both festivals have schedules that will be familiar to those who have played in any of the six legs of the tour that have taken place so far in 2025. The highlight of each festival is the Main Event, which has a £900+£100 buy-in for the Edinburgh leg, with a £150,000 guarantee. At Blackpool the price to play is a slightly higher £1,100 + £150, with a guarantee of £250,000!

GUKPT Edinburgh Tournament Schedule
GUKPT Edinburgh is a slightly longer festival than Blackpool, running from Thursday 9th until Sunday 19th October. The highlights include:
- £150,000 Guaranteed Main Event
- £50,000 Guaranteed Opener
- £100,000 Mini Main Event
- £30,000 GUKPT Cup
The extra three days at the start enable an additional marquee event to be included in the tournament schedule. It begins with The Opener, a £175 + £25 No Limit Hold’em event with six starting flights and a £50,000 guarantee.
The next key event on the schedule is the £220 + £30 Mini Main Event, with a £100,000 guarantee. The Main Event has three starting days, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and concludes on Wednesday. The two-day £1,500 + £150 High Roller runs in midweek, starting On Wednesday 15th October, concluding on Thursday 16th, without a guarantee.
Once the warm-up events have been dispatched with, the Main Event becomes the key focus for the rest of the festival. Beginning on Thursday 16th, there are three starting days for the £150,000 guaranteed tournament, which reaches its climax on Sunday 19th at the art deco building that is the Grosvenor Maybury Casino. The buy-in for the Main Event has been reduced from last year’s £1,100+£150 to the previously popular £900+£100. With numbers crashing at this event in 2024, it’s hoped that this price reduction will help re-establish the event as one of the biggest on the circuit.

Previous GUKPT Edinburgh Winners
Edinburgh has been a regular stop on the GUKPT since 2014, when Andrew Teng won the Event, defeating a field of 192 entrants to take the £26,000 first prize in what was then a £500+£50 tournament. The buy-in remained at this level until 2021, when it was increased to £680+£70 and enjoyed a post-covid boom, with participation rising sharply. Ludovic Geilich was the runner up in that year and after an even bigger 2022 (390 entries), he would go on to win it in 2023, when the buy-in was upped once again, to £900+100.
Last year the buy-in was increased to £1,100+£150, but this proved to be too big an increase and numbers dropped drastically, reducing to 184, equaling the lowest ever attendance of 2015, when James Mitchell became the champion. It was won by Paul Mcauley, who is expected to return this year to defend his title.

Previous GUKPT Blackpool Winners
Blackpool has been a regular stop on the GUKPT ever since the tour began in 2007. Traditionally it is the last regular leg each year, before the tour rolls into London for the season ending Grand Final. The very first Blackpool GUKPT Main Event was won by Paul Bracken and was televised on Channel 4, as were all the events in the first season of the tour. He defeated Paul Gardener heads-up to claim the first prize of £109,700, in an event with 353 entries, at a time when only one bullet was allowed per player.
Local hero Brian Clarke became the second Blackpool champion in 2008, defeating a field of 341 players to take home £96,500. Priyan de Mel won the first of his two Main Event titles in Blackpool in 2009, his second coming two months later in Bolton at the start of the 2010 season.
Many others have claimed GUKPT glory in Blackpool, including Rick Trigg, Tom Middleton and Ludovic Geilich. Geilich was one of two winners in 2024, taking down a one-off second annual Blackpool GUKPT in March. The regular November stop was won by Ravi Sheth, who recently won his second Main Event title, taking down the record breaking GUKPT in Coventry during the Goliath.

GUKPT Satellites: Live & Online
Live satellites to the Main Event and the High Roller take place at both Edinburgh and Blackpool during the festival weeks. Satellites are run with a target cashout format, meaning that players win their seat when they have accumulated 10 times their original stack. Online satellites take place daily at Grosvenor Poker, paying out in Grosvenor Live Credit, which can be used to buy-in to almost any tournament within the Grosvenor Casinos estate. This live credit famously never expires and enables players to skip queues at the venue, allowing buy-in on Grosvenor’s Live Poker app. Live credit satellites have feeders costing as little as £1 to enter, with the amount of live credit being played for varying from £250-£1,250.
