In a world of uncertainties, there’s one thing we know for sure: the PartyPoker return to the live poker scene in 2025 has been an absolute slam dunk. The past three events in London, Manchester, and Glasgow have been the highlights of the poker year for many UK grassroots players. Considering how hard the PartyPoker team has worked tirelessly around the clock, it’s really no surprise it’s been a roaring success.

It’s soon time for the fourth stop this year, as the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham will kick off on October 14. While staple tournaments such as the £500 Main Event and the £150 Mini Main Event are once again on the schedule, poker.pro has also been fortunate enough to host three different Mixed Games events in Birmingham. Considering that these mixed games may be unfamiliar to some players, the editorial office thought explaining the three different disciplines would make sense. One thing’s certain, though; they’ll all be lots of fun.

Mixed Games Galore

PartyPoker announced a few months ago that Birmingham would be the fourth stop of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour, but the schedule wasn’t revealed to the public until the beginning of September. The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham will be played at the Resorts World Genting Casino from October 14 to 19. During the previous three events, poker.pro has hosted various Mixed Games events. It all started in London back in April with the £200 poker.pro PLO 7-Max. Things then ramped up with the £100 PLO4/5/6 Dealer’s Choice (boy, did many players go for the 6-card). When it was Glasgow’s turn, the poker.pro-branded tournament switched from PLO to the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E. According to some of the locals at Alea Casino, Glasgow, this was the first time in years something else than Texas NLH and PLO was played in the Scottish gem, and the numbers surpassed poker.pro’s expectations.

The CEO of poker.pro, Jason Glatzer, is quite the madman. “Let’s take things even further in Birmingham,” he said. Not only did he extend it to three events on the schedule, but he also came up with one of them himself. Jokes aside, the whole team at poker.pro is very happy with the good collaboration with PartyPoker, and the official media partner is beyond grateful to have multiple self-branded events for the upcoming event.

That begs the question: what are these three Mixed Games events that’ll take the Birmingham players by storm? Well, let’s break them down.

£60 poker.pro PL Sviten Special (October 13)

Being Swedish, this journalist is beyond excited to see the £60 poker.pro PL Sviten Special on the Birmingham schedule. Sviten Special was invented by Anders “Bengan” Bengtsson in Sweden; allegedly, he and some mates sat at the poker club in Stockholm called Sviten, and tried to come up with a new game packed with as much action as possible.

The result was Sviten Special. It’s a hybrid between five-card PLO and five-card draw. All betting rounds are the same as in PLO. After the betting round on the flop, each player may discard as many cards as he/she pleases and draw as many new ones. At showdown, half the pot goes to the one with the best five-card PLO hand, and the other half goes to the one with the best five-card draw hand. There is no other poker discipline that offers this amount of action; the Brits are going to love it.

£60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E. (October 14)

The successful tournament from Glasgow will be back in Birmingham. Perhaps the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E. was the first time ever that a H.O.R.S.E. live poker tournament was played in pot-limit. The turnout exceeded the expectations of poker.pro, and the tournament was destined to reappear on the Birmingham schedule.

H.O.R.S.E. itself probably doesn’t need any further explanation. It’s one of the most popular Mixed Games, combining Texas Fixed Limit, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven-card Stud, and Stud Hi-Lo. Saddle up and get ready to tame this wild horse of a poker game.

£100 poker.pro R.O.S.E.T. (October 15)

Here it is: the Frankenstein of Glatzer. The poker.pro CEO decided to combine four of his favorite games – Razz, Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better, Sviten, Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, and Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw – to create a beautiful monster. Considering this was invented roughly a month ago, the £100 poker.pro R.O.S.E.T. tournament in Birmingham will be the world’s first-ever competition of this kind. Out of the three poker.pro Mixed Games tournaments in Birmingham, this is the one that should be considered the Main Event; that’s why the buy-in is slightly bigger than the previous two.

The whole team at poker.pro is very eager for the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham; it’ll be a thrill to gather the British Mixed Games community for three days at a world-class venue. What’s more, poker.pro promises unique prizes for the winners of the three events.

Long story short, UK poker players, mark your calendars. PartyPoker has proven to know how to arrange superb live events, and undoubtedly, the upcoming Birmingham, October 14-19, stop will raise the bar even further.
