Play Your Way Into the WSOP Circuit Calgary Main for Free

With the opening tilt in the 2026 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C) series set to kick off at Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in early January, players will already be planning their trips and poker schedules. To help ease the bankroll pain a little bit, the owner-operator of the WSOP, GGPoker, is holding some satellite parties in advance of the official games.

Satellite action for the WSOP-C Calgary series is already ongoing on GGPoker, with the for-money qualifier games starting at just $1. However, for players looking for an even cheaper option, the operator is offering freeroll games daily.

There are daily games leading into the Calgary Main Event, with hourly $1 editions that play to a $10 ticket. At least three $10 qualifiers are available per day, and winners from the $10 game advance to the full $75 qualifier with one $2,200 WSOP-C Calgary January Main Event seat guaranteed.

Freeroll to Calgary Main

There will be live satellite action on-site from the opening days of the series in January 2026, but for players looking to do some advance planning before they even leave home, GGPoker has them covered. The owner of the WSOP has a full slate of satellite games focused on the Calgary Main, and players don’t have to invest a penny to take their shot.

The four-step process starts with daily freerolls playing out at 1:10 PM Mountain Time, the local timezone for the Calgary event. That game has 5 $1 tickets up top, getting players a free shot at Step 2.

Step 2 has $10 tickets up top, with 1 ticket guaranteed, and extra tickets added for every 10.8 entries in the pool. $1 games run hourly on GGPoker during the day at 10 minutes past the hour. Blinds for the freeroll & $1 games play out for 3 minutes.

Step 3 costs $10, with games every hour on the client throughout the day. They have 1 $75 ticket guaranteed, with more tickets added for every 8.2 entries to the game. The $10 games start at half past the hour. Step 3 games have 5-minute blinds.

The final Step on the Road to Calgary is the $75 direct satellite to the Main. There is a single $2,200 Main Event seat guaranteed (note that the $2,200 buy-in this January is a slight modification from the $2,300 Main in October 2025). Blind levels for this game are 10/5 minutes long.

The opening prize pool for the main satellite is $2,200, but an extra $2,200 ticket will be added for every 31.9 entries in the field for each game. Recent action in the games has been light, with smaller fields leading to short games and relatively quick paths to tickets for some players.
