WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee Returns in August With 18 Rings and a $3.72M Guarantee

One of the most iconic stops on the WSOP Circuit is back — and it’s bringing the heat this summer.

From August 7–18, the WSOP Circuit rolls back into Harrah’s Cherokee for a 12-day poker festival packed with 18 official gold ring events, a total of $3,720,000 in guarantees, and a full menu of formats for everyone from deepstack grinders to Omaha specialists and everyone in between.

Get Things Rolling Early

Things kick off on August 7 with Event #1: $400 Double Stack Opener, followed by the Mini-Main Event (Event #2), which features five starting flights between August 7–9. This series staple offers tons of play for a small price tag and typically draws a sea of hopefuls chasing early ring glory.

From there, the schedule offers action every day — with multiple flights for the $400 Monster Stack, plus specialty formats like 6-Max, Seniors, Ladies, and PLO8 to keep the variety dialed in.

Main Event Headlines the Festival With $1M Guarantee

The centerpiece of the stop is the $1,700 WSOP Circuit Main Event, running August 15–18, with two starting flights and a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

In the most recent edition of the Cherokee Main back in May, Tuyen Dieu stunned the field of 1,224 entries to capture the title and a career-best $287,230. The Georgia-based newcomer had only played one other tournament before shipping it all — beating Toby Boas heads-up after hitting a full house with aces over tens to lock it up.

“I’m a champion now. Here we go, I’m rich! Finally, I’m rich!” Dieu shouted after the final card was dealt.

Boas collected $191,474 for second, and the event generated a $1,854,360 prize pool, proving once again that Cherokee delivers even when the field size slightly dips from past highs.

High Stakes and Low Stakes Flourish Alike

For those playing big, the $2,200 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller (Event #17) takes place on August 17 — one of the last chances to lock up a ring before the series wraps up the next day with Event #18: $400 Double Stack Closer. This event offers the best structure of the lineup with tough competition and a bloated prize pool to match.

On the opposite end, players can expect satellite opportunities and side action throughout the festival. With deep structures, familiar faces, and a warm summer poker atmosphere, Cherokee is once again shaping up to be one of the can’t-miss Circuit stops of the year.
