Nowadays, there is a swarm of various live poker circuits. The opportunities to play some live poker are perhaps better now than ever; every week, multiple events are running all over the world. Arguably, though, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) events are still amongst the most prestigious ones. Presumably, all poker players dream of someday winning a coveted bracelet (or a ring, if talking about the WSOP Circuit).

A couple of weeks ago, WSOP broke some news that should be intriguing to all bracelet chasers. The 2026 WSOP Europe will be played in Prague, featuring 15 bracelet events; the opportunities for all players to write their names into eternal poker history are many.

From Village to Bohemian Beauty

Since 2017, King’s Resort, Rozvadov, has been the home of the WSOP Europe. Players such as Jack Sinclair, Alexandros Kolonias, Omar Eljach, Simone Andrian, and, most recently, Daniel-Gai Pidun all have achieved success at the legendary casino located in the Czech village. Now, after nine years, it’s time for a switch of venues.

The 2026 WSOP Europe will be held from March 31 to April 12 at the Hilton Prague and King’s Casino Prague. While the schedule hasn’t yet been released, the WSOP has revealed there’ll be a whopping 15 bracelet events on the schedule. That being said, it’s an educated guess that the Main Event will keep its typical €10,350 buy-in, which always created a first-place payout well over €1,000,000.

If the WSOP is to be trusted, they have a strong ambition to take the already legendary event to new heights in 2026. The CEO of WSOP, Ty Stewart, has a good feeling about the festival migrating from the picturesque countryside to Praga mater urbium:

“It’s an exciting rebirth of the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague. We have a big ambition to elevate this festival to one of the very best in the world and look forward to welcoming players to a great poker city next April.”

Historically, the WSOP Europe has been played in the fall. The venue isn’t the only thing that changes with the 2026 edition; the dates are also altered. When WSOP released the news, many poker players and enthusiasts were quick to point out the clash of dates with the 2026 Irish Poker Open (which will be played at the Royal Dublin Society, March 26-April 6). While it’s a fact that the two events share a similar player pool, ultimately, only time will tell whether the clash has a noticeable impact on the respective festival’s numbers.

Nevertheless, the WSOP Europe has been an appreciated live poker event among many since its inception in 2007. The ambition to make the 2026 edition into something extraordinary is there, and, of course, the whole poker community is hopeful for a stellar event.
