  • Nicholas Lee Wins PLO Double Board Bomb Pot for $8,664

Nicholas Lee almost certainly pushed his Hendon Mob earnings over $500k tonight with his win in Event #4. He scored a bit more than $8,500 Cdn for the win and with his Hendon total at $497k going into tonight, this should push him over the top by ~$1k.

Lee held the big stack for much of the final table, though he traded it off to 3rd place Skyler Yorke a couple of times throughout the endgame. He played a solid game, however, finding lots of spots to pick up pots uncontested and finding hands when he needed to.

As an example of the latter, the final hand saw him flop a wheel with QJ43 on a board of A25A3. Runner-up JJ Johnstone flopped top-top and turned trip aces, but it wasn’t enough to flatten Lee’s wheel. Lee was also drawing to the spade flush but ultimately didn’t need it.

  • JJ Johnstone Out in 2nd Place for $6,642

    JJ Johnstone

It was a swingy heads-up match, with both players holding a lead at one point. Nicholas Lee came to heads-up with the lead, but Johnstone was able to get it back after he repped a flush in one hand to force a fold and draw even, then hit a flush shortly after for a double to the lead.

It was short-lived, however. They moved to the poker room at 3 am and the momentum shifted back to Lee. Just a couple of minutes after the move, Lee flopped a wheel and a flush draw against top-top for Johnstone and the wheel held despite Johnstone improving to trips on the turn. Lee had the lead back again at that point and the game was over.

  • Johnstone to the Lead

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:2/76
    Prizes:$28,880

While I missed the early action, JJ Johnstone just jumped into the lead after he flushed out on a board of QJ810K with A1065. The pot left Nicholas Lee on about 700k to 1.2 million for Johnstone.

  • Nearly Even

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:2/76
    Prizes:$28,880

They are close to even now, though Nicholas Lee still has a slight edge. JJ Johnstone chipped up on a flushed river card with a big pot bet to get Lee to fold. Lee opened to 75k and Johnstone called.

They both checked the 975 flop and Johnstone check-called for 100k on the A turn. He led for 260k on the J river, forcing the fold from Lee.

  • Johnstone Chips Up

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:2/76
    Prizes:$28,880

JJ Johnstone raised to 65k from the button and Nicholas Lee called to see K54 on the flop. They both checked to the [invalid notations] river.

They both checked. “Two Pair,” said Johnstone.

    “Which two?”

Johnstone showed AKJ2 for kings and deuces and the win. Lee still has the lead with about 1.2 million to about 700k for Johnstone.

  • Skyler Yorke Out in 3rd Place for $4,621

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:2/76
    Prizes:$28,880
    Skyler York

The PLO Double Board Bomb Pot is now heads up. Skyler Yorke was the chip leader coming back from the break to start Level 21, but it all went south for him from there. In the final hand he raised to 60k from the button and got a call from big blind and big stack Nicholas Lee.

Lee fired 160k on the 6105 flop, and Yorke called, leaving himself just fumes behind. The rest of it went in on the 3 turn when Lee bet more than Yorke had behind and got the call. Lee turned the straight with K432 and was drawing to the flush as well. Yorke’s J1082 wasn’t able to catch ip and Yorke was done in 3rd place tonight.

  • Lee Runs Out to Two Pair

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:3/76
    Prizes:$28,880

Nicholas Lee limp-called from the small blind after Skyler York raised it up to 75k. Lee check-called for 85k on the 2910 flop and they both checked the 8 turn. Lee fired 35k on the A river and after some time in the tank, York slid in the call, only to muck when Lee showed A862 for two pair on the turn and river.

  • Dylan Payne Out in 4th Place for $3,032

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:3/76
    Prizes:$28,880
    Dylan Payne

They are down to three left now with Dylan Payne taking 4th place tonight. He was short for most of the night, but managed to hold on for fourth place tonight.

The average stack now, with three lef,t is about 31 big blinds.

  • Lee Takes it on River

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:4/76
    Prizes:$28,880

Skyler York limped in under the gun and Dylan Payne called from the small blind before Nicholas Lee checked his option in the big. It checked to York on the KK7 flop and he fired another 20k.

Only Lee made the call to the 8 turn. They both checked it to the 3 river where Lee fired 95k. York hit the tank for about a minute, muttering “I play bad” under his breath all the while before finally mucking his hand.

“Why is it bad,” Lee asked?

“If I raise pre, you probably don’t see a flop,” York replied as Lee scooped in the pot.

  • York Leads on Break

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:4/76
    Prizes:$28,880

Skler York is the leader at then break following Level 20. Previous leader Nicholas Lee has dropped a bit with Dylan Payne and JJ Johnstone bringing up the rear.

    Entries:4/76
    Prizes:$28,880

Dylan Payne just found a double with AKQQ against Nicholas Lee. Payne flopped an ace on the 45A106 board and held to survive. He had less than 100k to start the hand, so he’s still pretty short — expect exact counts in a couple of minutes when they go on break.

  • Lee Leading

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:4/76
    Prizes:$28,880

It looks like Nicholas Lee is currently leading with more than 800k in front of him. Skyler York is a bit behind with about 750k while both JJ Johnstone and Dylan Payne are playing around 150k each.

There is a break upcoming in about 10 minutes at the end of this level, and I’ll get exact counts for the remaining players then.

  • Simon Lau Out in 5th Place for $2,022

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:4/76
    Prizes:$28,880
    Simon ‘Juno’ Lau

They are down to 4 remaining in Event #4 now after Simon “Juno” Lau hit the rail in 5th place tonight. He was short for most of the final table, and managed to find a double with a set of fives just before Kirk Nilson busted out in 6th, giving Lau the ladder from his short stack.

  • Kirk Nilson Out in 6th Place for $1,444

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:5/76
    Prizes:$28,880
    Kirk Nilson

They are down to five left in the PLO Bomb Pot game now after Kirk Nilson hit the rail in 6th place. I missed the action while I was processing and uploading the pictures.

  • Final Six Faces

  • 6 Left, In the Money

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:6/76
    Prizes:$28,880

While I’ve been finishing up the end-of-day action for Event #3, the side game has played down into the money. They’ve already paid out two players — see below for the payouts so far. Remaining in the game now are JJ Johnstone, Dylan Payne, Nicholas Lee, Kirk Nilson, Simon “Juno” Lau, and Skyler York. From my perspective, it doesn’t look like there are any “easy spots” on the table.

  • Final Table Bubble

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:10/76
    Prizes:$28,880

  • Final Two Tables

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:16/76
    Prizes:$28,880

They are down to the final two tables with 16 players left in the PLO Bomb Pot game. There are just over 10 minutes remaining in Level 14 and they are now 8 players off the money spots. This is an eight-handed game so they’ll go to the final table at 9 players which means they won’t be playing any “hand-for-hand bubble play” as the bubble will happen with just one table left in action.

  • Down to 18 Left

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:18/76
    Prizes:$28,880

    Entries:25/76
    Prizes:$28,880

The numbers are confirmed in the side event tonight with 76 entries for a prize pool of $28,880. Note that my prize pool calculations earlier in the day were badly off as I was using the wrong buy-in amount in my spreadsheet so previously quoted prize pool numbers should always be doubled for the actual number in this one.
