Chase Bonertz Wins Main Event for $94,937
Chase Bonertz, winner of the Main Event, with fiance It was a Day 2 that went nearly 17 hours from the opening until Chase Bonertz was sitting with all the chips. The six-handed play went on for nearly four hours, with Bonertz and 4th place finisher George Yang holding big stacks and handcuffing the other four, who were all jockeying for ladders.
Yang was the leader by a large margin when they got to six ways around 10 PM. That’s when things ground to a halt. it took three full levels of play to get the next exit when Romualdo Cusano doubled up fellow short-stacker Scot Munro, then had to get his final 135k in (with blinds at 40k/80k/80k) under the gun to avoid being forced all in from the big blind.
Once Cusano was out, Bonertz started to gain momentum. He chipped up in a hand against his eventual heads-up opponent, Dave S, giving Bonertz more than 4 million.
He was still trailing Yang, however, and it was soon to be four-handed after Scot Munro exited his fourth final table of the series in fifth place for $25,317, sending his chips to Dave. Dave then won a huge pot from George Yang when he flopped a set of sixes against Yang’s sevens. On a six-high board with straight outs for Yang, he shoved, but couldn’t get there against Dave’s set.
Shariq “Sharqy” Khan quickly followed when his pocket sixes couldn’t fade a river king for Dave, and that set up the heads-up battle with Bonertz. Bonertz started heads-up with an 8:5 lead, but that quickly changed as he seemed to go completely card dead.
There were very few showdowns, but Dave chipped up with relentless aggression, forcing Bonertz to leave dead money in the pot. That’s when Bonertz found some life again. He got his final 2.155 million in with ace-seven when he called off a shove with Dave holding king-ten suited and the ace held for a double to stay alive. He was still behind, but the chips went in again shortly after, when Dave woke up with kings.
Bonertz found an ace with ace-four to crack Dave’s kings and take a huge lead. He had more than 10 million when the final hand was played. Dave had ace-king against fours for Bonertz, and Dave called Bonertz’s shove. The fours held, and Bonertz had all the chips.
Both of the final two were railed for much of the evening by their girlfriends, or in Bonertz’ case, his fiancée. I have to think that almost $95k will make a pretty decent wedding present.

Level: 29 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 2/329 Prizes: $421,943 Chase Bonertz was down to 2.155 million when Dave S shoved with K♣10♣. Bonertz called it off with A♠7♦. The board of J♠Q♦Q♠Q♥7♠ hit Bonertz kicker on the river to give him about 5 million, still a couple of million behind Dave S.
-
Dave S with the Lead
Level: 29 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 2/329 Prizes: $421,943 There haven’t been many showdowns so far, but Dave S has been taking most of the pots with aggression, and he’s chipped up to about 7.5 million of the 13.16 million in play.
-
Shariq “Sharqy” Khan Out in 3rd Place for $41,561
Level: 28 (50000/100000/100000) Entries: 2/329 Prizes: $421,943 Shariq Khan It was a race between pocket sixes for Shariq “Sharqi” Khan against king-ten of spades for Daves after Khan shoved and Dave called. It looked good for the sixes until the river on the board of Q♥3♣Q♠A♣K♥.
Chase Bonertz is now heads up against Dave S, with Bonertz on about an 8:5 lead.
-
George Yang Out in 4th Place for $32,701
Level: 28 (50000/100000/100000) Entries: 3/329 Prizes: $421,943 Zhigang (George) Yang George Yang was the big stack for most of the final table, but he was left on just 1.7 million after he doubled up Dave S recently. In the final hand for Yang, Chase Bonertz raised to 225k, then called when Yang shoved. Yang was on the offsuit ace-eight aganst ace-queen for Bonertz. Bonertz flopped a queen and turned Yang dead. Bonertz now has the monster stack with more than nearly 8 million of 13.16 million in play.
-
Dave S Sets Up Yang
Level: 28 (50000/100000/100000) Entries: 4/329 Prizes: $421,943 With the board on the turn, showing 6-high, George Yang shoved pocket sevens from the big blind. Dave S snapped it off at rise, but he had a flopped set of sixes for top set, and the king on the river didn’t change anything
-
Scot Munro Out in 5th Place for $25,317
Level: 28 (50000/100000/100000) Entries: 4/329 Prizes: Scot Munro Scot Munro hasn’t been able to make it past fifth so far this series, but he’s managed to final table 4 times, including tonight. He shoved his button blind for 615k, and got called by Dave S in the big blind. Dave had A♥10♥ against queen-deuce for Munro. Dave hit his ace on the flop of A♣8♥5♠9♥4♠.
Immediately after, Shariq “Sharqy” Khan doubled when his pair won a race against George Yang, fading Yang’s flopped club draw.

Bonertz Chips Up
Level: 27 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 5/329 Prizes: $421,943 I arrived with the board out, showing four spades, ace-high. Dave S put in a bet of 325k, and Bonertz called, showing the king of spades. A few players commented on the flat call with the nut spade hand, but there was a steel wheel possibility on the board, and Bonertz said that the only hand that would call his shove would be the straight flush. Dave S had the jack-high flush, and was left on about 1.5 million. Bonertz is well over 2 million, and I’ll grab the exact stacks shortly when they go on the break.
-
Romualdo Cusano Out in 6th Place for $18,987
Level: 27 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 5/329 Prizes: $421,943 Romualdo Cusano The everlasting 6-handed game is no more after Romualdo Cusano shoved under the gun with 135k, and got four callers. When the flop came 3♣4♥9♣ small blind George Yang led out for 250k, and everyone else folded. Yang was on 9♦2♦ against J♠3♥. Cusano bricked his jack on the 10♦Q♥ runout.
Immediately after, Shariw “Sharqy” Khan got a double in a race against Chase Bonertz.
-
Munro Finds a Double
Level: 27 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 3/329 Prizes: $421,943 Romualdo Cusano is on fumes now after a hand that chops most of the time. Scot Munro shoved the small blind with A♦5♥ against A♥4♣ for Cusano.
The board wasn’t chopping tonight, however, coming 8♦4♥5♦6♦6♥. Both players hit their kicker, but Munro’s was best, and he doubled. Cusano is down to about 200k after the hand, while Munro, who has been on “10 bigs and a dream” for a couple of hours, now has more than 20 bigs to work with.
-
Dave Calls Second Pair
Level: 27 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 Dave S raised early to 160k, and George Yang called on the small blind. They checked through the [invalid notations] flop and turn, but Yang led for 325k on the paired 5♥ river. Dave called pretty quickly with jack-ten, showing the hand after Yang showed seven-six for seven high.
They’ve now been 6-handed for more than 3 hours, and the small blind is now equivalent to the starting stack of 40k.
-
Bonertz Won’t Give Value
Level: 26 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 Dave S limp-called from the small blind after big blind Chase Bonertz raised to 185k. The flop was 5♦J♥8♠ and Dave check-called for 125k. Both players checked the A♥ turn, and again on the K♦.
Dave smashed the river for Broadway and flopping a gutty and turning the double-gutty, and he was hoping for a bet from Bonertz. “NUTS!” he said, throwing Q♥10♣ on the table. Bonertz mucked his hand.
-
Yang Takes from Bonertz
Level: 26 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 Chase Bonertz raised to 135k under the gun, and George Yang called from the cutoff. Bonertz check-called for 105k on the 6♥7♠Q♠ flop, but check-folded to 350k on the 8♥.

They both checked the 10♦Q♥K♦ flop, but Cusano shoved for 705k on the 7♦ turn. Dave S tanked for several minutes, saying, “I haven’t seen you play this way all night.” He finally showed a jack of diamonds, followed by a jack of hearts before mucking.

Main Event will Finish in Poker
Level: 25v(25000/50000/50000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 The final 6 players moved to the poker room to finish out the game at the start of Level 25. I’ll grab exact counts for all remaining players at the break, but it looks like George Yang is still leading with about 4.3 million in front of him, but Shariq “Sharqy” Khan looks to be second with more than 2 million.
-
6 Left in the Main
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 Zhun Ruichen (Sing) I missed the action while I was in the bathroom, but the Main Event field is down to 6 left now after Zhun Rui (Sing) Chen ended his run today in 7th place. The average stack is still pretty deep but most of the chips are in front of George Yang, as he still dominates the counts.
-

Malcolm Bolger took 9th tonight in a hand I missed, but Mike Malm was short after the earlier confrontation with Bolger, and he shoved ace-four suited for about 3 big blinds, and George Yang called it off with a pair and held.
-
Arvhin Malinab Out in 10th Place for $8,017
Level: 23 (15000/30000/30000) Entries: 9/329 Prizes: $421,943 Arvhin Malinab Arvhin Malinab was the short stack, and he shoved for around 300k from the middle. Shariq Khan called it off from the cutoff, and it was a race between the sevens of Malinab and A♥J♦ for Khan. Khan found his jack on the flop, and the rest of the board bricked for Malinab.
-
Yang Four-Bets It
Level: 23 (15000/30000/30000) Entries: 10/329 Prizes: $421,943 Mik Malm opened early to 75k before Shariq Khan three-bet the river to 130k. George Yang was next to act, and he put in the four-bet to 350k, and that was enough to collect the pot with no further action.
-
Bolger Gets There for a Double
Level: 23 (15000/30000/30000) Entries: 9/329 Prizes: $421,943 Scot Munro opened early to 65k before Malcolm Bolger shoved the cutoff for 555k. Mike Malm reshoved the small blind for a bit more. Munro folded, and Malm was in great shape with ace-king into ace-queen. Bolger found a queen on the flop, however, and there was no help for Malm, and he was left just over 100k, while Bolger is up to around 1.2 million.

He raised the cutoff to 50k, and Keiven Yellowfly called from the small blind. Yellowfly check-called for 40k on the 4♣6♠7♦ and they both checked the 8♠ turn.
Yellowfly fired 75k on the [invalid notations] for a busted straight draw against the A♠4♠ for Khan, who took ti down with a pair of fours.

Action was on the flop reading 9♣7♣4♠, and McGearty shoved over a bet from Malcolm Bolger. Bolger snapped it off with a flopped set of nines against the overpair of tens for McGearty.
McGearty still had outs with backdoors to clubs and a straight, as well as higher set possibilities, but he bricked the turn and river.
The dinner break is coming in about 10 minutes, and I’ll get full chip counts at the break.

Boat over Boat Leaves Taylor on Fumes
Level: 18 (5000/10000/10000) Entries: 34/329 Prizes: $421,943 Thomas Taylor is on fumes now after a brutal river gave him the boat against Scot Munro. I missed the board action, but Munro was facing a bet of 100k from Taylor on a board of 9♥8♠K♥K♣2♣.
Munro shoved for 432k, which Taylor had covered, but only by a few orange 1k chips. Taylor hit the tank for about a minute, muttering, “I can beat full houses”, before finally sliding in the call. Taylor showed king-deuce for the rivered boat, but Munro had king-nine for the bigger boat and took it down. Taylor was left with less than $10k, and he busted shortly after to burst the bubble, along with Regan Duong from another table, so Taylor and Duong will chop the 33rd place min-cash for $1,794 each.

Level: 17 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 40/329 Prizes: $421,943 The Main Event field is down to 40 players remaining, with just under 30 minutes to play in Level 17. I’ve had a look around the room and it looks like Mike Malm has continued his spin-up from last night’s Day 1b. He has more than 800k in front of him right now for what looks like the clear lead, but Jerry Li is also continuing his stellar series with a stack that also looks to be around 800k.
The field is now 7 players off the money spots, with a min-cash set at $3,587.

Day 2 is Set with Dave S Leading 58 Returning Players
2025 Summer Super Stack – Event #14: $1,500 Superstack NLH Day 2
Date: Aug 10, Noon Blinds: 60 Minutes Entries: 58/329 Prizes: $421,943 (1st Place $94,937) Day 2 of the Main Event is set, but not everyone returning is going to be happy. There are 58 players returning for the final day of play, but only 33 paid spots, so 25 players will come back on Sunday and still go home empty-handed.
At the top of the list are Dave S and Doug Lee, both with well over 600k. They both bagged on Day 1b, as did Thomas Taylor for the 3rd place stack of 487k. The Day 1a leader, Malcolm Bolger, is 4th on Day 2 with 457k, but it’s back to the 1b stacks for Mike Malm in 5th with 437k. Malm spun that stack up after entering late in the game, on the final break.
The Day 2 action gets going at noon with levels jumping to 60 minutes. It’s likely that they’ll take at least a full level before they get to the money, but there are quite a few short stacks, so it could go quicker. There are 14 stacks returning with less than 20 big blinds, so they will all have to start looking for chips pretty quickly on Day 2.

Dave & Doug Lead the 1b Stacks
Level: 15 (2500/5000/5000) Entries: 32/196 (58/329 combined) Prizes: $251,370 ($421,943 Combined) The Day 1b stacks are in, and Dave S and Doug Lee both bagged well over 600k for the 1b lead. Dave S (who prefers his full name and picture not be used) has the lead with 650k, but Lee is very close behind with 631k. Thomas Taylor is 3rd with 487k, while Mike Malm spun up a max late entry for 4th place and 437k. Romualdo Cusano rounds out the 1b top five with 425.5, and Sherwood Park’s Scot Munro, who has already final tabled two events this series, was the only other player from the 1b field with more than 400k.
Day 1b Chips

196 Entries for 1b
Level: 15 (2500/5000/5000) Entries: 41/196 (67/329 combined) Prizes: $251,370 ($421,943 Combined) They are into the final level of Day 1 in the Main Event. It took a bit of time to confirm the numbers, but it looks like 1b ended with 196 entries for a two-day total of 329. That means the combind prize pool for Day 2 will be $421,943, and 33 players will get a piece of that.
Players should be aware that there will be quite a few more players on Day 2 than 33. Day 1a finished with 26 entries, when 10% of the field would have been 13. With 41 left in today’s flight, and less than 30 minutes to play, it looks like 1b will also finish with well over 10% of the field still with chips.

The Main Event Entries are Closed
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 93/195 (119/328 combined) Prizes: $250,088 ($420,660 Combined) Entries are now closed for the Main Event, and it looks like Day 1b got 195 entries, unofficially. I’ll have to wait to see the prizes for the final tally, but if this holds it will mean at least 19 bags tonight, and more than $420k in prizes divided between 33 players on Sunday’s Day 2.
-
Final Few Minutes of Entry
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 91/193 (117/326 combined) Prizes: $247,523 ($418,095 Combined) The final break of entries for the Main Event is now underway, and the field for 1b is at 193 entries. That may go up by a couple, but it looks like the final number will be around 195.
After a look around the room on break, it looks like Thomas Taylor is the leader now with more than 670k in front of him. There are 3 more levels of play in tonight’s flight, with the game most likely to play the distance tonight. They could bag early if the field plays to 10% before the end of Level 15, but that seems very unlikely at this point.
-
$400k in Prizes
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 87/180 (113/313 combined) Prizes: $230,850 ($401,423 Combined) The field just hit 180 players for Day 1b, and that pushes the combined prizes over $400k. There is still about an hour left to enter, so the numbers could push up toward 190 entries or more before it’s all over.
-
Clark Leads with Entries 6 Away from $400k
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 90/173 (116/306 combined) Prizes: $221,873 ($392,445 Combined) I’ve just had a look around the room, and it looks like Lee Clark is chip leader right now with about 260k in front of him. We haven’t seen much of Clark in the last few series, but it looks like he hasn’t lost a step in his time away from the local tables. Nu Teliani and Thomas Taylor are also both playing stacks above 200k.
-
10 Entries from $400k
Level: 10 (800/1600/1600) Entries: 97/169 (123/302 combined) Prizes: $216,743 ($387,315 Combined) They are up to 169 entries for Day 1b now, putting the two-day total at 302 entries. There are still about 2 hours to enter this final flight to the main, and 10 entries in that time seems very reasonable. That should mean $400k in prizes at least for this game.
GG Poker streamer Kevin Martin has shown up to take his shot at the big prizes. Joining him at the same table is Saskatchewan’s John Hashem, and elsewhere in the room are players like Dale Foyle, Scot Munro, Doug Lee, Eric Wasylenko, Pav Braich, Regan Duong, Thomas Taylor, Ali Razzaq, Mal Hagan, Peter Amic, Julius Roque, and Weston Pring.
-
$375k in Prizes
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 99/160 (125/293 combined) Prizes: $205,200 ($375,773 Combined) The Day 1b prizes are now over $200k, for a combined total of more than $375k in prizes. That means the two-day field is less than 20 entries away from $400k in prizes and, with 3.5 hours left in entries, that seems like it will be easy to hit.
SJ Sharma, Rauno Tahvonen, Todd Oakley, Mike Malm, Colten Yamagishi, Hassan Issa, Graeme Frank, Fraezor Caldwell, Cody Richardson, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, Don Fujita, Shawn Leis, and Johnny Yu are among the players in the mis for today’s flight, but there are still a lot of familiar faces I haven’t mentioned yet.
-
More than $360k in Prizes
Level: 8 (500/1000/1000) Entries: 99/150 (125/283 combined) Prizes: $192,375 ($362,948 Combined) The Day 1b field is now at 150 entries for 283 across both days. That puts the combined prizes at $362k and climbing, and puts the field only 29 entries away from capping $400k.
There are still about 4 hours left to register for today’s flight, so $400k seems well within sight before the desk shuts down at 9:30 PM tonight. Annie Li, Zhi Jiang, George Yang, DJ Sharma, Gordon Wong, Scot Munro, and Chris Klementis, who was 3rd in the 2024 Aug WSOP-C Main Event, are among the players in action here today.
-
Five Hours Left to Enter the Main
Level: 7 (400/800/800) Entries: 108/135 (134/268 combined) Prizes: $173,138 ($343,710 Combined) The players are on a break now following Level 6, which means there are 6 levels of entry remaining for the Summer Super Stack Main Event. They’ll be back in action in about 5 minutes for Level 7, and today’s field has already capped the 1a field by two entries.
Given the current pace, a final number between 180-200 looks very reasonable, but it remains to be seen how big things will go.
-
1b Nearly at 1a Numbers in Level 6; More than $1.1 Million Total for Series
Level: 6 (300/600/600) Entries: 108/132 (134/265 combined) Prizes: $169,290 ($339,863 Combined) The combined prizes are just shy of $340k now with 132 on the board for 1b, and 265 across both starting days. With these Main Event numbers, my tracking summary for the series already has the prizes for the whole series at more than $1.1 million, with many entries remaining for the Main, as well as two smaller events yet to run before the Summer Super Stack closes down for 2025.
-
More than $325k in Prizes
Level: 5 (300/500/500) Entries: 123/123 (145/256 combined) Prizes: $157,748 ($328,320 Combined) The two-day field is over 250 entries now with 123 in the pool for today. That puts the 1b prizes at $257,748, with the combined prizes over $325k.
with the current numbers, it looks like prizes of more than $350k are pretty likely, and if today’s field reaches 150 entries, which seems like a very reasonable number with the current pace, the combined prizes would be more than $360k. A 1b field of 179, which doesn’t seem out of the question at all, would put the combined prizes over $400k.
Entries are still open for more than 6 hours, and there are already a lot of familiar faces in the crowd. I haven’t had a good look at the room yet, but among the players I’ve spotted already while getting set up are Nicholas Lee, Matt Kwong, Dave Howat (who was at the FT of the PLO Bounty last night), Graydon Kowal, Mehmet Siginc, and Jacqueline Ray. That barely scratches the surface though, and I’ll add more names with future updates.

Final Flight to the Main Boarding Saturday
2025 Summer Super Stack – Event #14: $1,500 Superstack NLH Day 1B ($1,350 + $150)
Date: Aug 9, Noon Blinds: 40 Minutes (60 Minutes on Day 2) Starting Stack: 40k Late Entry: 12 Levels (~9:30 PM) Day 1 Ends: Level 15 or 10% of the Field Entries: 26/133 Prizes: $170,573 The second flight to the Main Event is taking off Saturday at noon, but players can get onboard for 9.5 hours after takeoff. Players get 40k to start and play 40-minute levels, with a hard stop on the day at the end of Level 15, or a soft stop if they hit 10% of the field before that.
On Day 1a, they got 133 entries for prizes of more than $170k so far. Malcolm Bolger was the player with the most chips at the end of Day 1a, with both he and Andy Truong stacking in the 400s. Shariq Khan, Jerry Li, and Cindy Kerslake rounded out the top five from 1a with stacks in the 300s.
The Day 1b action kicks off at noon, and this will be my main focus for the day. That said, Friday is likely to be a late night for me, so I won’t be on the floor for the start of play. I should be in the room shortly after the first break, but it depends on how late Friday goes.

Final Hands of the Night
Level: 15 (2500/5000/5000) Entries: 26/133 Prizes: $170,573 The clock is paused with 10 minutes remaining in Level 15, and they are playing the final hands of the evening. At this point, it looks like they’ll finish with around 25 players left from 1a.
Stay tuned for stacks coming soon.

133 Entries for Day 1a
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 66/133 Prizes: $170,573 The Day 1a prize pool ended up at $170,573. That’s still an unofficial number based on 133 entries. If that holds, they’ll be bagging 13 players, or however many are left after then end of Level 15.
-
45 Minutes to Enter
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 63/129 Prizes: $165,443 The Day 1a prizes just capped $165k with 129 entries on the board. Among the players still alive are Ronnie Dattani, Keiven Yellowfly, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, John Hashem, Shane Brotherwood, Graham Lupton, Thomas Taylor, Kris Steinbach, Raghav Sharma, Matt Ouellette, Sebastien Fallu, DJ Sharma, Ryan Cairns, Julius Roque, Tony Ma, Andy Truong, Tyler Panas, Colten Yamagishi, Eric Wasylenko, Nicholas Lee, Josh Myers, Roman Brar, Henry Yang, Seamus McGearty, Haven Taylor, Malcolm Bolger, Teo Sanchez, Deven Lane, Ron Giles, Geroge Yang, Homan Mohammadi, and Jacqueline Ray.
-
Nearing 130 Entries
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 63/128 Prizes: $164,160 Level 11 is nearly complete, and the field is at 128 entries. That’s a bit bigger than the predicted number of 125, and it’s likely they’ll get a few more entries in the hour left to enter today’s flight.
-
Two Levels to Enter Day 1a
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 75/123 Prizes: $157,748 Day 1a of the Main Event is up to 123 entries now, with Level 11 just underway. Entries are open until the end of the break following Level 12, so that means there are about 90 minutes left to get into today’s flight.
The current prizes with 123 entries are a bit less than $160k, and it’s likely we’ll see enough new entries over the next 90 minutes to get a bit higher than that number.
-
115 Entries
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 81/115 Prizes: $147,488 The Main Event Day 1a is at 115 entries, with about 15 minutes to dinner. They’ll take a 45-minute break following this level, with three more levels of entry following dinner. The current prizes are a couple of entries shy of $150k.
-
70 Entries in Level 4
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 70/70 Prizes: $89,775 The Main Event Day 1a field is up to 70 entries, with about half of Level 4 complete. That puts the prizes so far at nearly $90k and climbing, with about 7 hours left to enter the game.

Opening Flight to the Main Event Runs on Friday
2025 Summer Super Stack – Event #14: $1,500 Superstack NLH Day 1A ($1,350 + $150)
Date: Aug 8, Noon Blinds: 40 Minutes (60 Minutes on Day 2) Starting Stack: 40k Late Entry: 12 Levels (~9:30) Day 1 Ends: 10% of the Field or the End of Level 15 The Main Event is upon us, with the first ME action kicking off at noon on Friday. Friday is the first of two starting days for the Main, and I predict more than 350 entries for the game before the end of entries on Saturday.
Players get 40k in chips to start the day, and they play 40-minute levels on Day 1. Players can enter the game for 12 levels, with the final chance for chips coming at about 9:30 PM.
This game is somewhat different than the other multi-day games in this series, as it will bag up at the end of Level 15, even if they haven’t hit 10% of the field yet. If they make it to 10% before the end of 15, the bags will come out early, but with a 40k starting stack, that seems unlikely. That means that Day 2 players won’t necessarily be in the money on Day 2 for this game.
Alex Liu (R), winner of the Main Event, & David Swaim (L), runner-up in the Main Event In the Spring, Alex Liu took down the game after a heads-up deal with David Swaim. Swaim got an extra $12k for a total of $70k for second, while Liu pocketed $78,609.
I won’t likely be following this one very closely on Friday’s Day 1a, as I’ll be focused on Day 2 of the Megastack, which also runs Friday. However, once that game ends, this one will be my second priority.

Malcolm Bolger Leads 1a Stacks for the Main
Level: 15 (2500/5000/5000) Entries: 26/133 Prizes: $170,573 Malcol Bolger is the big stack from Day 1a with 457k. Andy Truong is the only other player in the 400s, with 419k. Shariq Khan, Jerry Li, and Cindy Kerslake round out the top five, all with stacks in the 300s.

45 Minutes to Enter
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 63/129 Prizes: $165,443 The Day 1a prizes just capped $165k with 129 entries on the board. Among the players still alive are Ronnie Dattani, Keiven Yellowfly, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, John Hashem, Shane Brotherwood, Graham Lupton, Thomas Taylor, Kris Steinbach, Raghav Sharma, Matt Ouellette, Sebastien Fallu, DJ Sharma, Ryan Cairns, Julius Roque, Tony Ma, Andy Truong, Tyler Panas, Colten Yamagishi, Eric Wasylenko, Nicholas Lee, Josh Myers, Roman Brar, Henry Yang, Seamus McGearty, Haven Taylor, Malcolm Bolger, Teo Sanchez, Deven Lane, Ron Giles, Geroge Yang, Homan Mohammadi, and Jacqueline Ray.

-
The Main Event Entries are Closed

Bonertz Doubles
Level: 29 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 2/329 Prizes: $421,943 Chase Bonertz was down to 2.155 million when Dave S shoved with K♣10♣. Bonertz called it off with A♠7♦. The board of J♠Q♦Q♠Q♥7♠ hit Bonertz kicker on the river to give him about 5 million, still a couple of million behind Dave S.

Level: 25 (25000/50000/50000) Entries: 6/329 Prizes: $421,943 Romualdo Cusano raised the cutoff to 125, then called when Dave S reraised the button to 340k.

Level: 23 (15000/30000/30000) Entries: 7/329 Prizes: $421,943 Malcolm Bolger Michael Malm They are down to 7 left in the Main Event now.

Khan Chips Up
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 11/329 Prizes: $421,943 The final 11 players are back at the table after the dinner break, and Shariq Khan just picked up some early chips.

Bolger Send McGearty Out in 12th Place
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 11/329 Prizes: $421,943 They are down to 11 players left after Seamus McGearty ended his day in 12th.

Singleton jammed wath ace-king of spades, and Yellowfly called off with ace-nine of hearts. Yellowfly hit the hearts on the flop, and Singleton couldn’t catch up.

Malm & Li Leading
