  • Wilson/Wist and Taylor/Capannelli Chop the Money

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:1/25
    Prizes:$7,125
From Left, Kelly Wist, Wendy Wilson, Gianna Taylor, Noah Capannelli

When they got heads up, the blinds were big enough that they decided to make an even chop, then play it out for the glory of the official win. Both teams earned $2,850 for their night’s work, but after they played it out, it was the team of Kelly Wist and Wendy Wilson who took the official win, while Noah Capannelli and Gianna Taylor were second tonight.

  • Somers & Gall Out in 3rd Place for $1,425

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:2/25
    Prizes:$7,125
    Maru Somers & Kelly Gall

The stacks are pretty short right now, with the average stack at about 20 bigs. Maru Somers & Kelly Gall were chip leading, but it only takes a couple of hands to change it all. In one hand, after a raise and a call preflop, and checked action on the flop, Gall bet out 50k on the turn reading 29810 but then had to fold when Wendy Wilson shoved.

A couple of hands later, Gall woke up with a suited wheel ace and shoved the small blind, but Wilson woke up with a bigger suited ace and held to send Somers & Gall out in 3rd place.

  • Somers & Gall Lead Team Game in the Money

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:3/25
    Prizes:$7,125

The Team game is now in the money with three teams left. Kang Lee & Shayla Mah were the bubble tonight, and Kelly Gall & Maru Somers are playing the big stack with around 300k, or about half the chips in play.

  • Four Teams Remain

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:4/25
    Prizes:$7,125

They are on the money bubble in the team event now with four teams remaining.

  • 25 Entries Confirmed for Teams

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:13/25
    Prizes:$7,125

As predicted, there will be three teams figuring in the payouts later tonight, with $7,125 in prizes to divvy up between them. The winning team will pocket $3,562; see below for the full payouts.

  • 25 Entries for the Teams

    Level:10 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:19/25
    Prizes:$7,125

Entries for the team game are now closed, with 25 on the board. I’m still waiting for the prizes to confirm that number, but if it holds, 3 teams will be sharing $7,125 in prizes later tonight.

  • 20 Teams in the Action

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:20/20
    Prizes:$5,700

The team game is up to 20 entries, with 15 minutes to play in Level 4. That puts the prizes at $5,700 so far, but I’d expect that number to double before the end of entries.

  • 16 Entries in Team Game

    Level:1 (100/100/100)
    Entries:16/16
    Prizes:$4,560

The team game is running with Level 1 nearly complete. There are 16 teams in action to start the night, but there’s still 3 more hours to enter.

  • Team Action for Saturday Night

    Date:Aug 2, 6 PM
    Blinds:20 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~9:15 PM)

It’s time for a party, with a bit of poker thrown in for fun. The Team game is usually as much about drinking and carousing as it is about the poker, but there will still be some serious poker, and decent prizes to be won for the team that can navigate the craziness.

The action kicks off at 6 PM with two-player teams. Teams start with 25k in chips and play 20-minute levels. There are 9 levels of late entry, with the final shot at a team stack coming around 9:15 PM. Each player on the team will play alternating levels.

I won’t be watching this game very closely on Saturday night. My main focus will be on the final flight to Event #3, but once that finishes, I should be able to get some coverage here. I have to be back for noon on Sunday, however, so I may not stay to cover the endgame of this one if it goes too late.
