Allen Shen had to come from behind against Mehmet Siginc, who was looking for his second ring this series. Siginc started heads up with a big lead, but a huge cooler flipped things around.
After a raise from Shen and a call from Siginc preflop, Siginc check-raised the ace-high, two-club flop. Shen called to the turn, which paired the ace and brought a third club to the board.
Siginc shoved, and Shen called him off pretty quickly. Siginc turned the nut club flush with king-eight, with Shen on trip aces with a four.
Shen needed an ace or a four or for the board to pair, and he got his wish when the river paired the five, giving Shen the full house and the win. He had a large rail of Ontario crushers railing him tonight, including past Main Event winner Nicholas Teeuwen, and streamer Patrick “Egption” Tardif, among many others.
