While the Day 1b players of the €150 Mini Main Event are still on the dinner break, this poker.pro live reporter took a stroll by the €100 PLO Masters Big O. The board read Q♣J♥3♥9♥, and PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Sam Acheampong was all-in. It was a three-way pot, and after Acheampong’s shove, Player A re-raised all in, and Player B made the call. Acheampong was hoping to win the 57,400 main pot as the players turned over their hole cards.
Sam Acheampong: A♥6♥7♦4♣5♦
Player A: 10♥8♥10♦8♣5♠
Player B: 3♦3♣8♣K♣A♦A♠
“Hooooooold!” Acheampong roared his catch phrase across the room, urging the Poker Gods to let his nut flush be the best hand after the river. They heard his prayers, and the 6♦ saw him scooping the pot, seeing as there was no low on the board. A moment of confusion followed as Player B – and everyone else – realised he had six cards in his hand, instead of five. An honest mistake which, in the end, didn’t matter. Player A won the side pot, while Acheampong received the full triple-up. With 57,400, he now plays an average stack.
