The board read 83Q5 with roughly 80,000 in the middle. Edin Hrnjic (Big Blind) had checked it over to Brazil’s Bernardo Nieto, who bet 65,000. Hrnjic made the call, and the dealer revealed the 4 river. Hrnjic checked again, and Nieto now moved all in for 107,000. After receiving the count, Hrnjic made the call relatively fast.

Bernardo Nieto: KJ
Edin Hrnjic: Q9

An utterly impressive call under immense pressure from Hrnjic was a fitting way to end Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event, considering he’s been having a top-five stack for as long as this poker.pro live reporter has seen. Nieto became the unfortunate bubble boy, and the remaining 46 players are now bagging their chips. They’ve all made Day 2, and they are all in the money.

That wraps up today’s live coverage from the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid. What a first day it was, with a record-breaking starting-day flight of the Mini Main Event. The blog will go live tomorrow at 16:00, when Day 1b kicks off. Before then, the Day 1a chip counts will be posted on the blog.

Thanks to everyone who’s been following along with today’s action, and we’ll see you all tomorrow.

Edin Hrnjic: 690,000
Bernardo Nieto: 0
