Juan Riedinger picked up his third win on the live felt tonight, making it through 51 entries to score the win in EVent #16. The turbo format game took about 7 hours to play down to the winner, and Riedinger had to come back from behind to do it.
Runner-up Sebastian Crema was the big stack for much of the final table, but Riedinger took a big pot from 3rd place Melissa Sekulich just before she hit the rail to stack him up to the lead. Crema was the one to send her to the rail, though, so they went to heads up pretty even.
Riedinger managed to chip up in a couple of non-showdown hands early in HU, and then the big confrontation came. He raised his button to 32k and Crema shoved. Riedinger counted his stack and did the math.
“OK, let’s do it,” he said, calling it down for a race between J♠9♠ and pocket fours for Crema. Riedinger spiked a nine on the turn and that was all he needed to win the flip for all the chips.
Riedinger notched two wins in Las Vegas back in 2023 so this marks his third win, according to Hendon Mob. It’s not even close to his biggest score, though. He pocketed more than $175k from second place in the Mega Millions event at the 2022 Winnin’ O’ the Green in Los Angeles.
That’s his biggest score by far, however, and tonight’s prize will probably 8th or 9th on his all-time cash list, depending on the exchange rates. Riedinger has a long page of results on Hendon Mob, all with US flags beside his name — tonight, he finally got a Maple Leaf to fly.
