The 2026 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju II is underway at Les A Casino on Jeju Island, South Korea, and the first two events have already delivered everything you expect from the world’s most prestigious high-stakes tour. Greece’s Alexandros “Pwndidi” Theologis claimed the first trophy of the festival after getting over the line for his maiden Triton title, and Austria’s Klemens Roiter ended a painful 12-final-table hoodoo in the second. Two events, two first-time Triton champions, and Phil Ivey has arrived on the island. The coming days are going to be something.
Theologis Takes the Opener: Event #1, $15,000 NLH 8-Handed
Event #1 drew 206 entries and generated a $3,090,000 prize pool, with 28 players bagging for the second day. The field was packed with familiar Triton names who clearly took the $15,000 opener very seriously: Phil Ivey, Thomas Muhlocker, Danny Tang, and Alisson Piekazewicz were all eliminated just before the money bubble, a quartet of names that tells you everything about the depth of a field at this level even at the entry-level buy-in.
Piekazewicz took the unwanted title of bubble boy. He check-raised a five-high flop holding king-queen in the big blind against Theologis’ button raise, but Theologis had outflopped him with king-three and Piekazewicz could not get away. When the rest of the field confirmed their minimum $25,500 payday, 28 players bagged up for Saturday.
Theologis led the field for almost all of Day 2, arriving at the nine-handed final as chip leader with 11,075,000 chips. The final table included six-time Triton champion Punnat Punsri, Adrian Mateos, Kiat Lee, Daniel Rezaei, Victor Chong, Wang Yang, Yin Tao, and Ehsan Amiri. Triton debutant Yin Tao was a magnet for aces throughout the day and navigated his way to a remarkable fifth-place finish in his first ever appearance on the tour. Wang Yang departed in ninth after running into Tao’s pocket aces. Mateos fell in eighth to Chong’s pocket eights. Amiri went in seventh to Rezaei’s ace. Rezaei himself was eliminated in sixth by Chong. Tao followed in fifth when Lee’s ace-seven held. Lee then ran into Theologis’ queens and fell in fourth. Punsri, the six-time champion who so often closes these things out, went in third when Chong flopped a jack to beat ace-three.
Chong led heads-up with 47 blinds to Theologis’ 22. The two exchanged small pots before Theologis turned a straight with king-five to edge ahead. The decisive moment came when Theologis made a brilliant call with third pair, catching Chong bluffing after nine of his 11 remaining blinds went into the pot. Chong was left with two blinds, doubled once, then found his eight-four unable to beat Theologis’ jack-ten and the tournament was over.
Theologis had previously finished second once and third twice on the Triton tour. The wait is over. “I’m of course very excited and very fortunate that I run this well to win,” he said after the victory. “I value the Triton trophies above other trophies just because of the competition and the buy-in. So I couldn’t have asked for anything else.”

Roiter Ends the Hoodoo: Event #2, $20,000 NLH 8-Handed
If Theologis’ story was about finally closing out a Triton title, Klemens Roiter’s story in Event #2 was about doing it at the twelfth time of asking. The Austrian had accumulated 17 Triton cashes and reached 12 final tables before Jeju II without a trophy. That changed on Sunday. The $20,000 NLH 8-Handed drew 174 entries and built a $3,480,000 prize pool, with 27 places paid and a minimum cash of $35,000. Roiter won $771,000.
The man he had to get past was Argentina’s Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo, a player who already has a WSOP Main Event final table and a $12 million Triton score from the 2024 Triton Million to his name. Lococo was the dominant force at the final table, eliminating five of the final nine players on his own. He sent out Biao Ding early, then eliminated Jesse Lonis when his trips beat Lonis’s pocket jacks. Yu Zhang fell to Justin Saliba. Chin Wei Lim was eliminated by Mehdi Chaoui. Then came the hand of the tournament: a three-way all-in between Lococo, Chaoui, and Justin Saliba in which Lococo made the nut flush on the river to score a double knockout, sending both to the rail simultaneously. Going into heads-up, Lococo held a commanding 2.5-to-1 chip lead over Roiter.
Roiter waited. He doubled early to even things up, then played the hand that sealed it: checking his option in the big blind with seven-two, he turned a full house on a ten-seven-five-seven-five board and extracted a massive pot from Lococo. Chong was left with a single big blind, Roiter flopped a pair on the next hand, and Austria finally had its champion.
Matthias Eibinger, Christoph Vogelsang, Jean-Noel Thorel, and Daniel Dvoress were among the notable names who fell short of the final table. Vladas Tamasauskas of Lithuania finished 10th for $66,000 after battling from 24th on the day. The 11th-place finisher was Matthias Eibinger, also for $66,000, which means two of the European circuit’s most consistent performers left Jeju II’s second event just short of the money floor.
