There was an open under the gun to 600, and a call from Richard Lightfoot in the next seat, before Jose Carlos Calderon produced a three-bet to 1,800.
Jordan Thomas cold-called, before Daniele Barbera produced a four-bet to 6,800 from the button. The under the gun player and Thomas folded, but Lightfoot and Calderon came along for the ride.
On the J♥6♥2♦ flop, action checked to Calderon, who fired out a bet of 7,500, which failed to dispose of either opponent.
The same pattern followed on the 4♣ turn in respect of a bet of 13,000 from Calderon, which again received two calls.
The 5♣ river completed the board. Lightfoot checked, Calderon jammed for around 23,000, Barbera called, and Lightfoot folded.
“Nuts” said Barbera as he tabled 8♥7♥ for the eight-high straight, and Calderon had K♣9♣ for air.
Daniele Barbera – 145,000
Richard Lightfoot – 9,600
Jose Carlos Calderon – 0
