It was a bit of a heads-up battle after a fairly quick run through the money spots in the Team game tonight. Most of this endgame happened while I was finishing up the Enemt #3 Day 2 details, so I only caught heads-up.
Team Brassard (Trevor & Nancy, who only played this game because they were on their way from Lethbridge to Edmonton for the AC/DC concert tomorrow night) started the final phase in a big way, when Trevor pushed Jo Teliani off a pair of sevens just before the break.
Nancy came back to a lead of 1.32 million to 580k, and she had Weston Pring down to about 200k after a hand where her spades capped a pair of jacks for Pring. Pring doubled back with ace-jack over ace-nine, then doubled to the lead when the reversal came.
Nancy shoved with ace-jack, and Pring called off with ace-nine. This time, however, Pring found two nines on the flop to take it down. That gave Pring the lead, but after they switched partners again, Teliani shoved a queen, and Trevor called off his stack with a suited ten-six, hitting the ten on the river to survive.
that left Teliani short, but she clawed some chips back before the final confrontation.
After another team swicth, it was Pring who tank-called it off for a race with ace-seven suited against fives. The fives held, and the Brassards have a slightly bigger beverage budget for AC/DC.
