After an intense ten hours of poker action in Day 2, the €1,100 OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Autumn Edition Main Event has been reduced to its final nine players, with play concluding on the direct bubble, after numerous short-stack doubles in the final session.
The tournament gained a total of 63 entrants, creating a €59,850 prize pool, with eight places to be paid, and €19,380 reserved for the champion.
Kings of Vilnius High Roller champion Tomas Bulksas of Lithuania (877,000) came into the final table with the chip lead, and as cagey play reigned, made hay while the sun shone to establish a significant lead over his closest challenger, start of day chip leader Baptiste Caim of France (475,000).
The bubble has already lasted almost three hours, and plenty of other quality players remain in contention, including OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Main Event champion Jurgis Beinoras (218,000), two-time WSOPC ring winner Eriks Krumins (118,000), Eduards Rakuss (236,000), who sits fifth in the Latvian all-time money list, and OlyBet Christmas Series Main Event winner Ryhor Karapanau (312,000).
Meanwhile, WSOPC ring winner Raivo Grislis (32,000) will start the day as the short-stack, and the likely bubble boy.

Recap of Day 2 Action
A total of 23 players had qualified from 48 entrants across the two starting flights, led by Caim, and they were supplemented by 15 Day 2 entrants to arrive at the final figures.
The action was fast and furious, and by the time late registration closed, only 23 players were still seated, with Caim still at the top of the standings. Amazingly, after a further seven hours of play, almost half that field is still standing.
Bulksas started to make his move up the leaderboard when he secured a big double against Krumins with a superior pair. It looked like the wheels may have started to come off for Caim when he doubled opponents in successive hands, but he managed to recover.
By the third break it was Bulksas and Krumins in front, and 13 players remained. A flurry of eliminations occurred on the return, with Saku Naesman, Matti Lasanen and Tomas Dailidonis all departing to bring on the final table bubble.
The final table was set when Karapanau turned a two-outer against Janis Katkevics, and Bulksas held a reasonable lead over Karapanau, while Roberts Rumba was the short stack.
Cagey play was the order of the day, and Bulksas took full advantage to pressure opponents and pick up plenty of pots uncontested.
Rumba doubled via Karapanau to stay in it, and then repeated the feat in successive hands against Karapanau and Bulksas.
Suddenly the short-stack pressure was transferred to Rakuss, and he too improved his position by securing a triple-up with queens.
That left Grislis as the clear short-stack, and while he was tempted to commit his chips to the middle in the last hand of the day, he elected to live to fight tomorrow.
