Niall Farrell has lifted some of the most illustrious trophies in poker, and the affable Triple Crown winning Scotsman is looking to add PartyPoker Tour London Mini Main Event silverware to his mantle piece today, as he enters Day 3 sitting 8th out of 16 qualifiers, on 1,120,000.

The event attracted a total of 726 entrants, creating a £90,750 prize pool, obliterating the £50,000 guarantee, and a Day 2 field of 111 players was reduced to 16 by the end of play last night. All players have guaranteed a £680 payday, but will be targeting the £14,530 first-place prize.

In a field featuring relatively uneven chip distributions, Farrell’s 11 big blind stack is far from the shortest, and he will be hoping to leverage his experience of deep tournament runs to wrestle the chip lead from current leader, Sebastian Constable (5,150,000).

Constable caught serious momentum at the perfect time yesterday in Day 2. He had nursed a short-stack for most of the day, but in the final session was on the right end of two huge coolers, one resulting in a double knockout, that propelled him to the top of the standings.

Constable has already locked up his biggest recorded live tournament score, and he leads from Adewale Keshniro (4,055,000) and Sidharth Menda (3,180,000).

Sofia Irene (2,295,000) and Amber Loader (935,000) meanwhile will be hoping to become the first female winner of the Mini Main, taking inspiration from Zhen Zhen’s performance in Glasgow, where she bagged the Main Event title.
