After a five-way deal that left £9,000 for the winner, Thomas Sanderson of the United Kingdom walked away with the trophy and £27,780 in the Main Event, defeating Antonis Poulengeris heads-up. The £500 buy-in event gained 399 entrants, creating a £177,555 prize pool, which was shared between 62 players.
Sanderson, a Spin & Go expert, defeated Antonis Poulengeris heads-up, and denied Andre Leal a historic Mini Main-Main Event double.
Sanderson was delighted to take the trophy, commenting “It feels great, I sort of don’t have any words really. I’m a Spin & Go pro and play alot on Party, and got a ticket via the rake I produced on Spins, so a really nice deal.”
“I’ve really enjoyed the PartyPoker Tour, I’ve been to three stops. It’s a great atmosphere and I really enjoy the structures, you get a lot of play for your money. It’s nice to get out of the house and play live, and I’ve met a few people here that I battle online so that’s been great.”
On whether he has any plans for his early Christmas present, Sanderson continued “I’m not sure, probably the first £500 on a few beers tonight! Maybe a car, I’ll have to think about it!”
Alexander Georgiev was crowned Player of the Year, just pipping Deniz Orhan, in a battle that went down to the wire, securing a £5,000 package.
