
Players kept filing in left and right for the 2025 World Series of Poker Circuit Tallinn at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park. Cash games kept the casino floor busy throughout the day and evening, while the tournament arena was electric with players competing for WSOP Circuit glory in the Estonian capital.
Finland’s Aku Laajus was the star of the day, earning the sole trophy after defeating Estonia’s Erio Ermann in the €200 NLH/PLO4/PLO5 side event to earn the €5,520 top prize.
In other news, three ring events were in play on Sunday. Netherlands’ Corne Scheel is in the pole position on the final table of the three-day Event #1: €350 Mini Main Event with a €45,700 top prize on the line.
The two-day Event #2: €555 PLO4/PLO5 Ring Event witnessed 268 players creating a €127,300 prize pool on its sole opening day. The action in that event played deep in the money with the top 41 players earning at least a €1,070 min-cash with the day ending with 26 hopefuls still in contention for the ring and the €27,100 top prize when the action resumes on Monday at Noon.
Meanwhile, the three-day Event #3: €555 NLH attracted 213 entries on the first of three opening flights, adding €101,175 to the prize pool.

Aku Laajus Earns Second Trophy for Finland
The turbo-charged Event #20: €200 NLH/PLO4/PLO5 Mix attracted a banner field of 138 entries to create a €22,287 prize pool. The event created a vibrant and fun atmosphere in the main hall, with Finnish players dominating the field. Five Finnish players were at the seven-max final table, and 11 out of the 17 players who cashed came from the Scandinavian country.
Finland earned its second trophy of the festival after Aku Laajas defeated Estonian Erio Ermann (second – €3,610) heads-up to earn the €5,520 top prize. Poker streamer Scott “Pokerbrahs” Kenyon earned his second cash in the festival but was busy socializing soon after the money bubble broke, earning a min-cash for 17th place worth €380.

Corne Scheel in Pole Position for First Ring in Event #1: €350 Mini Main Event
The three-day Event #1: €350 Mini Main Event witnessed 142 players out of the 954-entry field battle on Day 2 until a final table of nine hopefuls was reached. The action went deep in the money as players dipped into the whopping €280,953 prize pool, with players going deep into the money, with all returning players guaranteed a min-cash of at least €700 for double the buy-in.
This author, Jason Glatzer, managed a deep run before bowing out in 53rd place for €1,050. Meanwhile, two of the players who started the day in the top five bowed out just before the final table was reached including Jussi “Potti-Jussi” Mattila (13th – €2,210) and Norway’s Teddy Bremseth (18th – €1,790) hitting the rail on the penultimate table with two-time WSOP Circuit Tallinn champion Roope Tarmi (14th – €2,210) and Igor Pihela Sr. (16th – €1,790) also managing deep runs.
Three of the other top five stacks to start the day advanced to the final table after Anu Lilja bubbled at the final table to end Day 2 in 10th place for €2,740, including the start of the day chip leader Ville-Matti Keränen with 3,225,000. Simon Hesserud Persson had an even better day with more than double the stack with 6,975,000 when the action restarts on Monday at Noon, while Corne Scheel parlayed his big stack into the overall final table chip lead with a massive stack of 15,100,000 in chips.
