  • Todd Oakley Wins PLO for $4,389

Todd Oakley put on a bit of a dominating performance tonight. He was playing one of the big stacks for more of the final table, with some competition early on from Ismar Delic-Ibukic and Essam Saadeddine, while KJ have him some trouble later in the FT with a big stack.

Oakley was able to ride his big stack through most of th final table, and when they were four ways he had almost twice the stack of his closest rival, KJ. That lead held through the final hand.

When play got down to 7 remaining, they moved to the poker room to finish it out, and that seemed to spur the action a bit as it took less than an hour after the move to finish the game. In the final confrontation, KJ flopped a set of jacks with Oakley on nothing but a pair of deuces and backdoor draws. The setup jack was one of the backdoor cards and it proved to be a killer for KJ as Oakley ran out to Broadway with the queen-ten he needed to go with the ace-king in his hand and the jack on the flop.

This was Oakley’s third live win. He got his first back in 2016, but #2 came earlier this year with a win in the $600 Mid Grande at Ace Casino Airport in March, and this will be his fourth-biggest live score.

  • Oakley Check-Pots the Flop

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:8/77
    Prizes:$14,630

Essam Saadeddine raised to 40k preflop from the middle and the only caller was Todd Oakley from the big blind. The flop was A10J and Oakley checked to Saadeddine who put out 50k. Oakley potted to 260k and after a bit of a tank from Saadeddine, he folded to send the pot to Oakley.

  • Hill Straightens Out for the Win

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:8/77
    Prizes:$14,630

In the final hand of the last level, chip leader Ismar Delic-Ibukic limped in under the gun and he got a call from Larry Hill in the small blind. Big Blind Darrell Moore said “If I have anything I’m pounding it,” before looking at his cards. “Hmm, this is poundable …” he said, trailing off before electing for just a call.

The flop was 95A and it checked to Delic-Ibukic who fired 20k. Hill called while Moore got out of the way saying “I guess I should have potted it.”

Both remaining players checked the 7 turn but after a check from Hill on the 3 river, Delic-Ibukic bet 30k. Hill called and his eight-six-four-four hit the straight against the set of threes with ace-seven-three-three for Delic-Ibukic.

  • Christian Vincent Out in 9th Place

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:9/77
    Prizes:$14,630
    Christian Vincent

Kirk Miller was all in with a bit less than 50k. Essam Saadeddine called from his left before Christian Vincent raised it up to 120k. That pushed Saadeddine out and it look like Vincent would get the game into the money as he had aces against suited kings for Miller.

Vincent sarcastically predicted a king on the flop. He was wrong about that, but Miller did hit two spades on the flop and found the third one on the river for the flush win and a double. That left Vincent pretty short and he was all in the next hand and couldn’t find a card to hit the rail in 9th place for unofficial bubble money.

  • Final Table Time

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:9/77
    Prizes:$14,630

Here is a look at the final table players with one player still to go until they are in the money. The players agreed to a bubble deal of $20 each so 9th place won’t go home empty-handed, but they also won’t be part of the official payouts.

  • 2 Off the Final Table, 3 Off the Money

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:11/77
    Prizes:$14,630

They are down to 11 left now with 10 minutes to play in Level 17. Juss Viet was the most recent exit from the game. Meanwhile, KJ just got a double when he ran out to a straight against Sam Singh.

  • Edwards and Mather Out on Same Hand

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:12/77
    Prizes:$14,630

They are down to 12 left in the PLO now after a couple of busts shortly into Level 16. Jason Boyes was the first to exit on the first hand after the break, then Gerry Edwards was all in on one table with Keth Mather all in on the other. Both players were called, and Juss Viet two pair on the turn and river to take out Edwards’ aces with a flush draw while Todd Oakley sent Mather home with a flopped set of kings against Mather’s ace-queen-x-x. That puts them four players off the money.

  • Moore Takes One from the Small

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:16/77
    Prizes:$14,630

In one of the final hands of the previous level, Gerry Edwards limped under the gun, and got calls from Juss Viet in the cutoff, Darrell Moore in the small blind and the big blind. Before the hand, Edwards and Viet had some verbal jousting with Edwards joking “Give me a suited ace against that guy and I’m all in.”

The flop was 695 and Moore led out for 10k prompting folds from all other players.

  • 16 Left

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:16/77
    Prizes:$14,630

They are down to 16 left, 8 off the money now, and it’s a battle for the lead between Christian Vincent and Essam Saadeddine who are both playing about 200k right now. Darrell Moore is also sitting with a decent stack that looks to be about 160k.

There are about 10 minutes left in Level 14 with a break scheduled following this level.

  • 21 Players Remain
