Jo Teliani is no stranger to the spotlight. The current API women’s front-runner made short work of the field on her way to securing her 3rd PPT Trophy. Event #14: $450 NLH Bounty, amassed a field of 86 entries for a total prize pool of $24,510 ($15,910 prizes, $8,600 bounties). Teliani took home the lion share of $7,708 for her efforts plus 7 $100 Bounties.
The event hit the ground running. Runner-up Mike Malm found four bounties early on to take an early chip lead. As play closed in on the bubble, Nadav Bitton had a massive chip lead of 367,000 over 100,000 more then the closest opponent. However, Bitton’s bounty hunting on the stone bubble saw him at risk out-kicked against Malm’s Ace-Jack. Malm’s hand held to bring play into the money and to a final table.
From here, Teliani went to work eliminating the short stacked Ben Wilson. Malm reclaimed his leading stack when Alex Liu jammed big slick into his pocket Aces. With play five-handed, Teliani continued on her hunt for bounties. She found a quick elimination onto Dennis Zekios with both players flopping trip kings. Shortly after, she called off Glyn Gracias’ shove. Gracias was ahead with pocket jacks, until the river game Teliani two pair.
The short stacked Michael St. Pierre-Porter moved all in with both Malm, and Teliani calling. Teliani found value on the turn and put Malm to the test on the river forcing him all in. Malm made a disciplined laydown with trip aces, as Pierre-Porter fell to Teliani’s full house. The following hand, Teliani called off Malm’s jam with J♥10♥. A jack on the flop put her firmly in the lead, and the runout changed nothing.
