Kurtis Ruhl hasn’t been playing as much lately as he used to, but it looks like he hasn’t lost much of his game while he’s been on the golf course. He brought the chip lead into heads-up against Reza Yazdani, and never gave it up.
Yazdani found a double during heads-up to get up over a million, when he hit the nut flush over a smaller flush for Ruhl, but that was as far as he was able to get. Ruhl’s aggression near the end chipped him down consistently, and in the final hand, Ruhl flopped a pair with backdoor flush and straight outs, and the turn and river hit him right where he needed to get the straight. Yazdani mucked his hand when he saw Ruhl’s straight, and all the chips went across the table.
This was Ruhl’s 7th live win, with four of those wins coming in four-card games. The win today should push him close to $240k in live earnings.
