Pavel Krumer started heads-up with the chip lead after he sent Evan Thomas home in third, but Andy Truong doubled back to the lead fairly quickly into heads-up. From there, it was mostly smaller pots, with Krumer claiming after the game that he’d bluffed Truong often in the final phase.
There really wasn’t another huge hand until the end, with Krumer mostly chipping away with aggressive play to get back to the lead. In the final hand, the money went in on the flop when they both hit top pair. Krumer had the better kicker, but he also hit two pair for a huge lead. Truong needed running cards for fives full or a straight to survive, but it wasn’t to be.
Truong got a $1,464 bounty to go with his $16,007 prize, while Krumer added $5,169 in bounties to his $24,032, for almost $30k total. This was Krumer’s first Ring and biggest score ever, so he was pretty happy in the end.
