The opening flight of the Main Event is now complete, with action running well into Level 18 before they got to 12.5% of the field. With 118 entries, it was a solid Day 1a field, with 15 players advancing at the end of the night, and almost $111k in prizes already.

Willy Santos leads the way out of Day 1a with more than 600k. He’s the only player with more than half a million, with the next stack at 488k

Day 1b will be a repeat of Day 1a, likely with about 50% more players. I’m expecting a 1b field of 170-190 at least, and 1b could well crack 200, given the strength of 1a.

Blinds are 40 minutes for Day 1 play, and players get 40k to start. There are nine levels of open entry, meaning 8:15 PM Saturday evening will be the Main Event entry cutoff for this series.

The game will play for as long as it takes to get to 12.5% of the starting field. With 1a playing into Level 18, 1b players should likely expect to be in the Pearl Room until 2 or 3 AM at the absolute earliest, and it could go later than that.

Reporting won’t start for 1b at the beginning of the day, but there should be coverage before the second break of the day for sure.
