Coolbet Open Returns to Tallinn and Olympic Park Casino for Ninth Edition

Since its inaugural edition in 2018, the Coolbet Open has been a popular event on the live poker calendar. Olympic Park Casino was the first-ever venue to host the Coolbet Open eight years ago, and soon, the six-day event will return to its place of birth. The 2026 Coolbet Open is just a few weeks away, and poker.pro journalist Christoffer Karlén has summarized everything that players need to know about the event.

Back to the Roots

“Coolbet is a gaming company which strives to be fair, personal, and open.”

Those words are Coolbet’s own, and they use them to describe their vision. For years, Coolbet has been a big actor on the international poker stage. While they might be known for their sublime online poker client first and foremost, one must now forget about the Coolbet Open, their live poker project that strives to give all players the best possible live poker experience, based on the principles listed in the quote. Roughly one year has passed since the 2025 Coolbet Open wrapped up, and in only a few weeks, the Estonian capital will once again welcome the event with open arms.

The 2026 Coolbet Open will be played September 1-6 at Olympic Park Casino, Tallinn, and it’s destined to become the kind of event that aligns with the values Coolbet praises. The six-day event features a tournament schedule with more than 30 events, and there are many different games to choose from. The most intriguing tournament on the schedule is arguably the €550 Main Event. The tournament is a three-day affair that kicks off with its first of a total of three starting-day flights on September 2. All three starting-day flights will play nine levels, and those who survive will bag for Day 2, set to kick off on September 4. Day 2 will then play down to the money, and the tournament will ultimately wrap up on September 5, when only one player remains after Day 3. Perhaps the tournament will turn out similar to last year’s event, where Spain’s Guillermo Cifuentes navigated his way through a field that consisted of 493 entries to claim the €48,400 first-place payout, which was the biggest slice of the €234,175 prize pool.

While a Main Event is always a Main Event, one of the strengths of the 2026 Coolbet Open lies in the schedule’s diversification. Indeed, not only the Texas No-Limit Hold ‘Em players will enjoy the event, but all Mixed Games enthusiasts are also destined to have the time of their lives. One of the highlights is the €200 PL Sviten, which is scheduled on September 1, the first day of the event. Sviten, as a game, has been growing steadily, and it’s always been popular in the Baltic states. Surely, it’s the most action-packed way possible to kick off the festival. A selection of other intriguing side events includes, but is not limited to, the €250 T.O.R.S.E.S., the €200 Open-Face Chinese Pineapple, and the €250 PLO4/5/6 Progressive Bounty.

There are two other side events that deserve some special recognition, and they are both Mystery Bounty affairs. It’s been said before, but it’s worth saying again: nothing beats the thrill of a live poker Mystery Bounty tournament. The thrill of not knowing what’s inside that secret envelope adds another element of excitement. Not counting a satellite, the €350 NLH Deepstack Mystery Bounty is the first event of the festival, kicking things off on September 1. The tournament wraps up the following day, i.e., September 2.

Then, on September 4, the €350 PLO4/5 Deepstack Mystery Bounty commences with Day 1. It’s the final multi-day tournament of the festival, and a winner will be crowned on Day 2 (September 5). All in all, the 2026 Coolbet Open tournament schedule looks very promising. Check out the full schedule below.

How to Qualify

Again, it’s the ninth edition of the Coolbet Open, and it’s the eighth one in Estonia and Tallinn (the 2023 edition went down at Banco Casino Bratislava in Slovakia). That being said, the upcoming event will mark a return to Olympic Park Casino for the first time in four years. Olympic Park Casino (and the adjacent Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel, for that matter) has proved time and time again to be a top-notch venue for live poker events of a certain magnitude, and this time won’t be different.

The one who wants to partake in the fun would be very wise to head over to the Coolbet online poker client, where one could qualify for the 2026 Coolbet Open for coffee money. Up for grabs are €1,600 packages including a five-night stay at Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel (September 1-6), breakfast, a €550 Main Event ticket, €375 for travel expenses, and a special gift from Coolbet on-site. There are two ways for players to get their hands on the package.

The first way is to compete for a Coolbet Passport; compete in the four-step pathway starting from a mere €5 to get your hold on a Coolbet Passport, which can be swapped for a package for the 2026 Coolbet Open.

The second way is to compete in any of the dedicated qualifiers, especially for the Coolbet Open. While the Coolbet Passports can be used for various live poker events, there are also niche qualifiers solely for the upcoming event in Tallinn. It’s all two-step satellites, where the first step costs €10 to enter. There are three €100 tickets guaranteed to the weekly final, in which players can compete for €1,600 packages. What’s even better, is that there are two packages guaranteed every week.
