The Poker Experience Tour Manchester Reshapes the UK Live Poker Scene

After a successful first tournament in London earlier this year, it’s soon time for the first standalone festival of the Poker Experience Tour. The “PET” is the new tour that’s entering the live poker tournament calendar with a bang. It puts the player in focus, and with a completely unique Main event, it’s arguably one of the most intriguing festivals out there. The upcoming stop will be played at the Manchester235 Casino, and no doubt, it’ll be a poker affair for the ages.

A Tour for the Players

The Poker Experience Tour is created by global poker host Glenn Brown and Paul Moyce, former tournament director at Genting Casino London (formerly Aspers). Together, they sought to create an opportunity for grassroots players in the United Kingdom to experience the poker adventure of their lifetime.

The Poker Experience Tour will be played at the Manchester235 Casino, August 7-10. The casino in question recently hosted the 2025 PartyPoker Tour, and now, they will roll out the red carpet for yet another thrilling event.

Paul Moyce and Glenn Brown

The tournament schedule suggests Brown and Moyce are a creative duo. The vision of the Poker Experience Tour is, quote, “to revolutionize the poker scene in the UK”. The unique schedule is just a small part of the overall experience, but there’s no doubt that the £240 PET Promys (i.e., the Main Event of the tour) is a one-of-a-kind tournament.

“Promys” is the acronym for Progressive Mystery Bounty. The prize pool is split three ways: one part goes to the prize pool, one part goes to progressive bounties, and one part goes to the mystery bounties. With seven starting-day flights – as well as great opportunities to secure a seat for a cheaper buck through the £30 satellites – you’d better believe this bonanza of a tournament is going to be a juicy one. The mystery bounties will kick in on Day 2, and some lucky players will pull the £1,000 top bounties. What’s more, players will also compete for an added €1,100 package for the 2025 Battle of Malta.

Jason Glatzer won the London tournament, and was awarded with a package to the Manchester event

The Promys will undoubtedly be the star of the show; however, the schedule features several side events, such as the £120 poker.pro PLO4/5. There’s also the Resurrection Freeroll; there are few things worse in poker than busting during the last level of a starting flight, and presumably, Brown and Moyce both have experienced this. Such, the idea of the Resurrection Freeroll was born; all players who bust during the last level of a Day 1-flight (with 50% of the average stack or more) will be invited to the freeroll. There, contestants will play flips, seeking to win half of a Day 2 average stack. This “second chance” segment has never been done in any regulated poker tournament before, and once again, it’s very evident that the Poker Experience Tour is focusing on delivering a unique experience with the players in focus.

If you thought the Promys was the only thing unique about the Poker Experience Tour, think again. Brown and Joyce have come up with a very creative prize for the Main Event winner (in addition to the first-place payout, of course). The one player who emerges victorious will be awarded a share of The Poker Experience Ltd. This truly is something special, and over the course of all Poker Experience Tour events, a total of 10% of the company will be given away to the various winners. Considering the very ambitious plans of the tours, this is a prize that should be very sought after by all players.

The Poker Experience Tour is trying to change the UK live poker scene, and one must admit, it sounds like they will be off to a very promising start. The expectations for Manchester are high, and no doubt will this be a tournament to remember for the ages.
