The 2025 World Series of Poker has officially wrapped, but Canadian players made sure to leave their mark before the summer lights dimmed in Las Vegas. From final table finishes to deep five-figure scores, red-and-white flags were still flying in the final events of the schedule.
Setna Scores Big in The Closer

Jimmy Setna made a strong final push in Event 97: $1,500 The Closer, bagging a final table finish in one of the last large-field tournaments of the series. Setna battled his way through a field of fast-paced action and pocketed $107,240 for his 7th-place finish. It’s a solid exclamation point to a summer where many Canadians made their presence felt in the mid-stakes scene.

Plante and Mann Go Deep in the $5K

In Event 99: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em, Santiago Plante and Jason Mann each found a way to cash one more time before the curtain dropped. Plante finished in 33rd for $16,471, while Mann edged slightly further, earning $19,585 for his 31st-place result. Both players added another line to their already strong summers, proving they can hang with the big names in the high buy-in fields.
Bitton and Parent Shine in the Super Turbo Finale
The final event of the summer—Event 100: $1,000 Super Turbo No-Limit Hold’em—delivered fireworks for the Canadian contingent. Nadav Bitton nearly stole the show, finishing in 2nd place for a massive $158,578 score. Not far behind was Jacob Parent, who made the final table as well, finishing 5th and taking home $62,954.

Both players left it all on the felt, closing out the WSOP with a pair of highlight-reel results for Canada. If this is a sign of things to come, the fall poker grind could be just as exciting.
