David Ko Bags a Top Ten Stack in the Mystery Millions; Canadians Find Their Stride at 2025 WSOP

Canadians seemed to have hit their stride heading into the second day of the 2025 WSOP series. Among them, David Ko managed to bag a top stack in the Mystery Millions Day 1c flight, Frederic Normand has bagged a monster stack in $5,000 8-Handed NLH, and various other players have found their first cash of the series.

David Ko and Frederic Normand Bag Top Stacks in Early Events

Canadian players Frederic Normand and David Ko have managed to bag a top stack in two separate events. Normand sits 13th with over a million chips in play in Event #3: $5,000 NLH 8-Handed. As well, David Ko has bagged the 8th largest stack from the three opening flights of Event #1: $1,000 Mystery Millions NLH.

He enters day two with over two million in chips, and will have plenty of opportunity to chase the $1,000,000 mystery bounty that will be introduced. The tournament has one more flight before heading into the Day 2 portion of the tournament. Every player who makes Day 2 will receive a mystery bounty that will go to the player who eliminates them. Prizes will appear on the big screen as they are drawn, as at least one lucky player will walk away a a millionaire.

Many Canadians Find Their First Cash of the Series

Alongside those who have made Day 2s, many fellow countrymen and countrywomen have found their first cash of the series. Among them are Social Media savant Kyle Anderson, Kelly Baker, and Randy McGregor. McGregor has found the deepest cash thus far, exiting Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo in 28th place.
