The 2025 World Series of Poker is ramping up with the opening week of events coming to a close. A bracelet has already been awarded in the Industry Employees Event, but the remainder are still waiting for a new owner.
Some of the earliest deep Canadian results came from Event #6: $1,500 Seven Card Stud. Alberta native Thomas Taylor and BC native Greg Mueller both showed their seven-card prowess with cashes in the game.
The result marks Taylor’s first 2025 cash. With more than $2.2 million in lifetime earnings and two WSOP Circuit rings to his credit, the mixed-game specialist is still looking for his first hardware from poker’s summer camp, and he should be on everyone’s top-five list for Best Canadians Without a Bracelet. While he would certainly have been looking for a deeper run in this one, getting his first cash of the series in the first stud variant of the series will be good momentum for him in his bracelet hunt this year.
Other Canadian results include some baggers and cashers in the penultimate Mystery Millions flight, while Patrick Stacey made a deep final table run in Event $4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
