2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow Day 6: Zhen Zhen Writes Scottish Poker History with £500 Main Event win
Zhen Zhen Sunday, August 17, was the last day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow. It was a bittersweet day; it had been a stellar event that everyone wanted to last forever, but all good things must come to an end. It was a worthy conclusion, though, as the final table of the £500 Main Event was the one tournament that would cap the crown on the third PartyPoker Tour stop of 2025. There were some prominent names on the final table, and all the preseumptions for an absolute epic clash were there. The expectations would not disappoint, as the finale went down in dramatic fashion that includes a comeback of epic proportions.
It’s not Over ’til it’s Over
The £500 Main Event was a three-day affair, where players could choose to fire as many bullets as they pleased in any of the four starting-day flights. Day 1a/b/c/d would all conclude when 25 % of the field remained, and the survivors would bag their chips for Day 2. Overall, the tournament scored 256 entries, resulting in a £111,820 prize pool.
66 players were left in the field when Day 2 started, and 39 were getting paid. After roughly eight hours of play, the nine remaining contestants bagged their chips, went for a good night’s sleep, and then returned for the final table on Sunday at 14:00.
The final table The first major showdown of the finale came just after a couple of hands. The most prominent live poker tournament player of the bunch, Dean Lyall, managed to double up his small stack against the sole lady of the table, Zhen Zhen. With roughly $2,000,000 in live earnings according to The Hendon Mob, it’s an educated guess the rest of the players would have preferred to keep Lyall’s stack on the smaller side.
Shortly thereafter, Alan Chrzaszcz would become the first casualty of the final table, as he was dominated by the Big Slick of Kyle Scott. Chrzaszcz was one of the biggest stacks during the longer part of Day 2, but he lost some chips towards the end and entered the final table on the shorter side. For his ninth-place finish, Chrzaszcz got £2,600.
Jaime Staples PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples had entered the final table with the second most in chips, and perhaps, he was the crowd favorite. Unlucky for him, he lost around 90 % of his stack in a brutal setup against John Woods; most of the Canadian’s chips went the way of Woods, and in the same hand, Kevin Frame lost all of his chips to claim an eighth-place finish for £3,200. Staples was eliminated by Woods a few hands later; the PartyPoker Ambassador went to collect his £4,000 paycheck.
Next one to hit the rail would prove to be Killie Rab. He got it in good in a Blind VS Blind-battle against Zhen, but as the saying goes, “there’s always an ace on the flop”. Rab bid farewell in sixth place for £5,100.
David Lappin The five remaining players then went on their first break of the day. Lappin was still the chip leader at that point, playing almost twice as much as Scott who was second on the rankings. At the bottom was Lyall; he’d experienced somewhat of a rollercoaster ride, winning one pot and losing the next one. Eventually, his journey came to an end as he lost a deciding flip against Woods. Lyall got £6,300 for his fifth-place finish.
Four-handed play lasted more than one hour, with all players losing and winning an all-in at least one time each. Eventually, though, Scott got the better of Woods as he hit a king on the turn. Gracious in defeat, Woods wished the remaining three players the best of luck before he went to collect his £7,650 paycheck.
With three players remaining, the blinds were very high and the average stack was around 16 Big Blinds. Chips traded owners back and forth, and at this point, it was anyone’s game. The element of luck was somewhat high at this point, and Lappin would be the next one to pull the shortest straw. He went out against Scott in third place for £10,100, and the stage was not set for a heads-up clash between Scott and Zhen.
Scott went into the One VS One-duel with a four-to-one chip lead. A few hands into the heads-up, Zhen managed to double up with a superior ace and evened out the stacks somewhat. Some pots here and there, and suddenly, she was now the chip leader. The blinds were increasing at rapid speed, and Zhen eventually had a 2-to-1 chip lead with 20 Big Blinds. Soon enough, she got it all in with ace-high against Scott’s queen-six, and the board ran out in her favor. With that, she was crowned the winner of the £500 Main Event during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow.

2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow Day 5: Lappin Secures Final Table Chip Lead after Crazy Cooler
David Lappin After roughly eight hours of play, Day 2 of the £500 Main Event has come to an end. It was yet another busy yet entertaining day of unparalleled live poker action at the Alea Casino, with the mighty Clyde River meandering alongside the building.
All combined, the four starting-day flights had attracted 256 entries to the Main Event. 66 players managed to survive their respective flights, and in doing so, secured a Day 2 bag. When the clock struck 15:00, these players took their seats, and the dealers started washing the cards.
A Blockbuster Session
The 256 entries created a £111,821 total prize pool for the Main Event. The first goal for the Day 2 players was to make it to the top 39 and secure a £1,000 minimum cash, but of course, they all had their eyes on the big £22,500 first-place payout.
Jaime Staples The bubble burst after roughly three hours, when William Henderson’s ace-nine sucked out on Michelle Baldie’s ace-queen. At that point, players like Alan Chrzaszcz (chip leader going into Day 2), Christian Watt (winner of the £150 Mini Main Event), Jaime Staples (PartyPoker Team Pro), and David Lappin (poker legend) were all still in the mix. That was also the case for PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors Sam Acheampong and Asif Warris, while Alexander Georgiev and Natalie Bromley both busted before reaching the money.
Natalie Bromley Staples had been pretty idle before the bubble burst. Then, he picked up aces and doubled against ace-king. From that point, he was the star of the show, and soon enough, he was the tournament chip leader by some margin. He proved why he’s so respected in the poker community, and with controlled aggression, he managed to grow his bag bigger and bigger every orbit.
Play went on, and it took quite some time before the three final tables became two. When only 16 players remained, however, surprisingly many players went out during a relatively short period of time. Eventually, Henderson went out in tenth place in absolutely brutal fashion against Lappin. With that, play was over for the day, and the nine remaining players bagged their chips for tomorrow’s final table.
£500 Main Event – Final Table Seat Draw and Chip Counts

Considering he”s also one of the most experienced players left in the field, it’s an educated guess many hold Lappin as the favorite to take home the tournament. When it comes to tournament winnings according to The Hendon Mob, Dean Lyall is the only one out of the bunch who surpasses Lappin. Lyall will enter the final table as the shortstack, but if anyone can convert it into something bigger, it’s him.
Without a doubt, tomorrow’s finale will be an absolute joy to follow, and when all is said and done, a new chapter in Scottish poker history will be written.

£500 Main Event Final Table Set as Henderson’s out in Brutal Fashion
Level 22: 15,000/30,000 (30,000) Entries: 9/256 Prizes: £111,821 Seated on the Button, David Lappin opened to 65,000. Killie Rab called from the Small Blind, before William Henderson raised to 280,000 from the Big Blind. Back to Lappin, who decided to 4-bet to 580,000. Rab quickly folded, before Henderson moved all in for roughly 1,900,000. Lappin called as fast as humanly possible.
William Henderson: K♦K♠
David Lappin: A♥A♠A brutal cooler, and Henderson didn’t manage to crack Lappin’s aces on the Q♣10♠4♠Q♦Q♠ board. Such, Henderson was eliminated in tenth place, meaning play is over for the day.
The nine remaining players will take their final table seats at 14:00 tomorrow. The poker.pro live coverage is now done for the day, however, the final table seat draw and chip count will be posted within a couple of minutes.

Robert Robb made the call from the Cut-off, before William Henderson decided to move all in for 1,150,000. The bet was too much for Robb; he mucked his hand, and Haffie and Henderson went to showdown.
Ross Haffie: 3♥3♦
William Henderson: Q♥Q♦Haffie was behind, but the 3♣ in the window brought him some hope. Unfortunately for him, the full flop read 3♣5♦Q♣. Haffie didn’t improve to quads as the board completed with A♠9♣, and he was eliminated in tenth place.

Two Ambassadors go Out Back to Back
Level 19: 8,000/16,000 (16,000) Entries: 26/256 Prizes: £111,821 William Henderson opened to 24,000 UTG. Action folded to PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Asif Warris, who was seated in the Big Blind. Asif took a peek at his hole cards, started singing, clicked “record” on his camera app, and then moved all in for 87,000. Henderson made the call.
Asif Warris: A♠J♦
William Henderson: A♣A♦Warris was in rough shape, but he got some additional outs on the 8♥7♥10♠ flop. The J♣ gave him even more hope. The 7♣ on the river didn’t help in, and he was eliminated. Sam Acheampong busted moments before Warris’ exit, meaning all PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors are now eliminated. The PartyPoker Team Pro however, Jaime Staples, is still the chip leader.

Jaime Staples Level 18: 6,000/12,000 (12,000) Entries: 28/256 Prizes: £111,821 After playing an average stack during the most part of Day 2, PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples is now runnin’ hot. He won a big pot with aces against Big Slick, and from there on, it’s been the Staples show.
Dean Lyall recently opened to 25,000 UTG. The £150 Mini Main Event champion, Christian Watt, three-bet to 60,000. Action then folded to Staples, who requested a count on the Watt stack. After receiving the number, Staples forced both of his opponents to go all-in. Neither Lyall nor Watt was up for the task, and they both mucked.

Watt is on Fire
Christian Watt Level 16: 4,000/8,000 (8,000) Entries: 37/256 Prizes: £111,821 Christian Watt won the £150 Mini Main Event for £10,260 yesterday, and he’s one of the 37 players currently remaining in the £500 Main Event. He has roughly 620,000 in chips, and even though it’s still a long way to go, what a sunshine story it would be, were Watt to bink the Main Event as well.
A fun fact is that Ion Oprea, who won the Mini Main event during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester, came third in the Main Event two days later. In other words, Watt needs to finish top two if he wants to break the record.

The Bubble has Burst
Level 16: 4,000/8,000 (8,000) Entries: 39/256 Prizes: £111,821 On the stone bubble, Michelle Baldie raised to 20,000 from the Hi-jack. Action folded to William Henderson in the Big Blind, who forced Baldie all in for 96,000 in total. Baldie made the call, and the players revealed their holdings.
William Henderson: A♥9♦
Michelle Baldie: A♠Q♠Baldie was ahead, and the 10♣5♠7♥ flop didn’t concern her too much. “Eight of spades on the turn for the sweat?” Henderson joked. “No, thank you,” Baldie humourously replied, as all the spectators shared a laugh. It wasn’t spades, but the other black eight, the 8♣, fell on the turn. Henderson now picked up additional outs, as he now had a up-and-down straight draw to go with his pair of nines.
Sad news for Baldie, as Henderson did improve to a straight on the J♦. The whole tournament area shouted “whoah” as a collective, as Baldie became the unfortunate one to who bubbled.
That means that the remaining 39 players now all are guaranteed a £1,000 min-cash.

Action was checked to Donnelly on the 10♦8♣6♥ flop, and he bet 26,000. Stokes was the sole caller. Both players checked the K♥ turn. On the 3♥ turn, Stokes bet 80,000. Donnelly pondered for a minute, before letting his hand go.
A few moments later, the floor announced that hand-by-hand-play now would commence.

Jezz Rose: A♣K♣
Jaime Staples: A♥A♦Staples had picked up the perfect hand at the perfect time, and Rose was very displeased with the presumptions. He did flop a gutshot on 5♦J♦10♣, but the 10♥7♠ didn’t help him. All of Rose’s chips went the way of Staples, and now, only three more players will be eliminated before the remaining 42 are in the money.

Roderick Macneil: K♠J♠Rose was looking to double up, and he was way ahead on the 3♣Q♦3♦ flop. He maintained his lead on the 3♥ turn, but the Q♠ saw the players splitting the pot, both playing the board. “You gotta love it,” PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples chuckled.

Christian Watt Pulls off Epic Comeback to Claim £150 Mini Main Event Victory
Christian Watt Day 4 of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow was by far the busiest day of the festival so far. With no fewer than eight tournaments on the schedule, non-stop live poker action was guaranteed all day at the Alea Casino. Even though there were two £500 Main Event flights on the schedule, one could argue that the final day of the £150 Mini Main Event was the star this beautiful Friday in Scotland. The anticipations for an epic showdown were high, and it did not disappoint as the finale went down in dramatic fashion, with a comeback that will be remembered for years to come.
It’s not Over Until it’s Over
After four starting flights and almost a seven-hour-long Day 2, only nine players remained out of the total 468 entries. These brave contestants took their seats at the final table at 15:00 today (August 15), and they were all ready to battle it out for the £10,260 first-place payout. The Mini Main Event is one of the most prestigious tournaments during the PartyPoker Tour stops, and Glasgow didn’t disappoint; the prize pool was an impressive £58,406, more or less copying the numbers from the Manchester event just a few weeks earlier.
Gajanthan Kamalanathan Gajanthan Kamalanathan entered the final table as the chip leader, and if The Hendon Mob is to be trusted, he was also the most experienced player in the field. He was off to a great start, as he eliminated short-stacked Marc Moody in the very first hand. Moody had been the chip leader of the tournament at one point during Day 2, but hadn’t managed to bring a big stack into the final table. He got £1,021 for his ninth-place finish.
Shortly thereafter, David Anderson was eliminated in eighth place for £1,285. Again, it was Kamalanathan on the better side of things, as he picked up pocket aces against the kings of Anderson. It’s safe to say that Kamalanathan had a decent start to the final table. With Moody and Anderson out, Christian Watt was now the player who had position on Kamalanathan, and the two of them frequently locked horns, trading the chip lead back and forth.
Callum Reid Watt eventually knocked out Callum Reid in seventh place (£1,665) in somewhat brutal fashion, as he hit a two-outer on the river. Not too long after Reid’s exit, Daniel Hawkes clashed all-in against Watt. Hawkes had been somewhat anonymous on the final table, and eventually, he had to commit his last six Big Blinds with A♠5♦. He was up against Watt’s pocket sevens, and didn’t manage to hit a case ace. Hawkes hit the rail in sixth place for £2,190.
The jolly fellow Robert McKeown would soon become the next one to go. Perhaps he has mixed feelings about king-six suited after this final table; first, he managed to double up with K♦6♦ against Kamalanathan, but then, he missed his flush draw with K♠6♠ against the very same opponent. For his fifth-place finish, McKeown was awarded £2,920.
Laurynas Jakutis had managed to keep his somewhat short stack consistent for some time. All good things must come to an end, though, and all of the Lithuanian’s chips soon enough went to Kamalanathan, who now held 80 % of the chips in play. Jakutis earned £3,970 for his fourth-place finish.
Laurynas Jakutis Derek Curran was one of the more senior players on the final table, and it was evident that he knew the value of chips. He managed to hold on tight for quite some time and managed to claim several payjumps. Eventually, he lost his stack to – you guessed it – Kamalanathan, after the latter had spiked an ace on the river.
As Curran was out in third for £5,110, the stage was now set for a heads-up clash between Kamalanathan and Watt. Being the more experience player and holding 76 % of the chips in play, Kamalanathan was surely many’s favorite to take home the title. Just a few hands into the one-vs-one duel, both players got all the chips in the middle in a classic coinflip situation. The board ran out in Curran’s favor, and his pair of deuces was good. Watt now had momentum and he kept snagging some Big Blinds from his prominent opponent. When he hit a full house and got paid the maximum, he overtook the chip lead by the tiniest or margins.
The final table during the earlier stages Spectators were surrounding the table and followed what was a very entertaining and intriguing heads-up affair. Kamalanathan eventually took the chip lead back and soon enough, both players were all in on a 8♥Q♠6♠ flop. Kamalanathan had flopped two-pair with 8♣6♦, and he once again had an opportunity to eliminate Watt, who held A♠A♦. For perhaps the fifth time of the day, though, a case ace fell on the river, and Watt won the enormous pot with top set.
The very next hand, everything went in the middle again, this time with Kamalanathan being the player at risk. He wasn’t able to beat the big slick of Watt, and that settled it. Kamalanathan was eliminated in second place, and with that, Watt emerged victorious in the £150 Mini Main Event, claiming his biggest live poker tournament win.

Callum Reid Level 27: 50,000/100,000 (100,000) Entries: 6/468 Prizes: £58,406 Gajanthan Kamalanathan opened to 250,000 from the Cut-off. Christian Watt made the call from the Button, before Callum Reid moved all in for 1,280,000 from the Small Blind. Derek Curran (Big Blind) and Kamalanathan folded, before Watt made the call.
Callum Reid: J♥J♣
Christian Watt: 8♣8♥Reid was way ahead, and the 6♣6♦Q♦ didn’t feature a scare for him. The 10♠ turn was also safe, but the brutal 8♠ river saw Watt improving to a full house. Poker can be a brutal game, and Reid went out in seventh place for £1,665.

Watt Takes from Kamalanathan
Christian Watt Level 26: 40,000/80,000 (80,000) Entries: 7/468 Prizes: £58,406 Again, action folded all the way to Gajanthan Kamalanathan in the Small Blind, who made it 225,000. After some consideration, Christian Watt decided to defend his Big Blind.
Kamalanathan fired a 200,000 continuation bet on the 6♠A♣K♥ flop, and Watt made the call. On the 8♦ turn, Kamalanathan sized up to 600,000. Watt made the call.
Both players checked the Q♥ river. Watt turned over A♠3♣, and Kamalanathan mucked his hand. “I almost pulled the trigger,” Kamalanathan admitted as Watt raked in the chips.

David Anderson Eliminated in 8th Place (£1,285)
David Anderson Level 26: 40,000/80,000 (80,000) Entries: 7/468 Prizes: £58,406 Action folded to Gajanthan Kamalanathan, who opened to 160,000 from the Lo-jack. Seated right next to him, David Anderson moved all in for 485,000. The remaining players folded, before Kamalanathan snap-called.
David Anderson: K♥K♠
Gajanthan Kamalanathan: A♥A♠A brutal setup from the Anderson point of view, and the 2♦Q♣2♣9♠3♠ didn’t help him to crack any aces. He bid farewell in eigth place for £1,285; what a start for Kamalanathan.

From the Small Blind, he forced the short-stacked Marc Moody all in for 390,000. Moody, seated in the Big Blind, snap-called.
Gajanthan Kamalanathan: A♥Q♠
Marc Moody: K♣6♥Moody didn’t improve on the 2♥2♣9♥5♥8♦ board, and he became the first casualty of the final table. He went to collect his £1,021 paycheck.

2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow Day 3: Gajanthan Kamalanathan Leads £150 Mini Main Event Final Table
The third day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow has come to an end. Well, more or less, that is; at the time this recap is being written, the £150 PLO Masters Big O is still going, as well as the £60 Satellite to the £500 Main Event.
The two most intriguing tournaments of the day, though, have both concluded. The poker.pro live coverage team mostly focused on Day 2 of the £150 Mini Main Event today, and it’s been a blockbuster of a tournament with Gajanthan Kamalanathan bagging the chip lead into Friday’s nine-player final table. The other gem on Thursday’s tournament schedule was the first flight of the Main Event, where 15 players managed to find a bag for Day 2. Let’s go through what went down at the Alea Casino Glasgow today.
A Marathon Day for Mini Main Event Players
The first tournament of the day was Day 1d of the Mini Main Event. This was the fourth and final starting flight, and it attracted 79 entries. This meant that the flight would end when only 16 players remained, who all would advance to Day 2.
Day 1d finished just a couple of minutes before Day 2 started, meaning that the 1d survivors potentially had a long day of poker. Before cards were in the air, the floor shared the final numbers of the tournament. A total of 468 entries had created a £58,406 prize pool, with a £10,260 first-place payout. Needless to say, there was a lot to play for.
92 players entered Day 2, but “only” 71 would be in the money. It didn’t take too long before the burst; David Langsdale ran his A♣K♦ into the A♠A♥ of Li, and with that, all players were “ITM” and guaranteed £260.
Perhaps, PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples was the most familiar name still in the mix. There would be no super-deep run for the Canadian, though, as he soon would be knocked out by his own girlfriend, Rebecca Hardisty. With Staples no longer in the tournament, poker host Glenn Brown was the only PartyPoker Tour Ambassador still in the mix. Eventually, Brown would join Staples on the rail as his pocket tens came up short against two queens.
Jaime Staples A while later, Adam Buxley would be eliminated by John Bradley, and a three-table redraw was commenced. The pots had become a lot more significant, and with some short-stacked players, there were several all-in situations happening with just minutes apart. Three tables soon became two, and Robert McKeown was the chip leader at this point. The average stack was just shy of 1,400,000, and McKeown was sitting very healthy with roughly 5,000,000 in chips.
McKeown was one of the players seated at Table 2, and such, he had a great seat to witness one of the craziest hands ever played in the Alea Casino. Steamrolling, epic plays, floor rulings, insane runout… the hand had it all, and it will be remembered for quite some time.
At 02:21, Craig McCairns was eliminated in tenth place, meaning play was over for the day. The nine remaining warriors bagged their chips, and they will return to the final table tomorrow, Friday, August 16, at 15:00. Gajanthan Kamalanathan is the current chip leader, but it will be a fierce fight for the £10,260 first-place prize, and the coveted PartyPoker trophy. Below are the chip counts for tomorrow; the seat draw won’t be conducted until tomorrow.

The Sickest Hand in Scottish Poker History?
Level 23: 20,000/40,000 (40,000) Entries: 14/468 Prizes: £58,406 Action folded to Daniel Hawkes, who opened to 80,000 from the Cut-off. Then, Craig McCairns moved all in for 400,000 from the Button. Jakutis Laurynas folded in the Small Blind, and then, Hawkes made the call and turned over his K♠J♥ holdings. McCairns picked up his cards and was ready to put them on their backs, but then, the players were made aware that action still was on James O’Hara in the Big Blind. McCairns quickly put his cards down again.
The floor was called to the table to determine what choices O’Hara had. Hawkes and the dealer both admitted they had seen McCairns’ cards. First, it was deemed that Hawkes could take back his 400,000 call, if O’Hara were to decide to re-raise. O’Hara settled with the call, though, and that meant that Hawkes couldn’t take his 400,000 back.
Before the flop was dealt, the floor determined that McCairns would have to turn his hand over and play it out with his cards faced up. Considering Hawkes knew what McCairns had, it would only be fair for O’Hara to also have that information. Said and done, McCairns turned over his A♣10♣ holdings.
The dealer then dealt the 4♠J♦6♣ flop. O’Hara checked it over to Hawkes, who had flopped top pair. Hawkes bet 175,000, and as if the hand wasn’t already crazy enough, O’Hara forced his opponent all in for roughly 1,100,000. Hawkes shared a look of confusion, before deciding to call.
James O’Hara: K♦J♠
O’Hara had the same hand and had tried to get Hawkes off the pot. All players’ cards were now revealed, and it would be a normal runout from here. Just to put the cherry on top of an already incredible hand, the board completed with Q♦K♥. “Justice!” McCairns roared as he trippled up after hitting a runner-runner straight.
Craig McCairns: 1,200,000
James O’Hara: 1,100,000
Daniel Hawkes: 840,000 -
McKeown has a Massive Stack
Level 23: 20,000/40,000 (40,000) Entries: 15/468 Prizes: £58,406 Gig-stacked Robert McKeown (UTG+1) called an 80,000 opening from UTG. When action came to John Bradley, he raised to 300,000 from the Hi-jack. The UTG-player folded, and after twisting and turning for two minutes, McKeown made the call.
First to act, McKeown checked the 5♦7♥2♠ flop. Bradley fired a 150,000 continuation bet, and then, McKeown quickly forced his opponent all in for perhaps 400,000 in total. Bradley made the call.
Robert McKeown: 5♥5♠
John Bradley: A♦Q♣McKeown had smashed the flop, and Bradley received no help on the 4♣8♣ runout. Bradley was eliminated in sixteenth place, and most likely, McKeown is the current chip leader.
Robert McKeown: 4,900,000

2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow Day 2: poker.pro-branded Tournament Writes Scottish Mixed Games History
The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is in full swing, and yesterday (Wednesday, August 13) was the second day of the six-day festival. It was a thrilling day in the Scottish capital which offered not only two £150 Mini Main Event starting flights, but also, a new chapter was written in the Scottish poker history books, as the first-ever H.O.R.S.E live poker tournament in Alea Casino history took place.
Moody Bags Big in Mini Main Event
The £150 Mini Main Event is destined to become one of the biggest tournaments during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow. The three-day affair holds four starting day flights; Day 1a was played Tuesday, August 12, while Day 1b and Day 1c both both were featured on the Wednesday schedule.
Day 1b was the earlier of the flights, kicking off at 14:00. 138 entries meant that the flight collected £17,222 towards the prize pool. After roughly seven hours of play, the remaining 28 players (i.e., 20 % of the field) all received a bag for their chips. They will be reunited with them on August 14, 18:00, when Day 2 kicks off. Paul McAulay proved to be the most prominent player in Day 1b, as he bagged 462,000.
The turbo flight of the Mini Main Event, Day 1c, commenced at 20:00. Late registration closed with 106 entries, and 19 players made it through to Day 2. Marc Moody bagged an impressive 718,000, making him the current chip leader of the Mini Main Event.
While there still is the hyper-turbo 1d flight to go (August 14, 13:00), the prize pool currently is £48,547.
Poker.pro-branded Tournament Writes Scottish Poker History
As has been the case for the two previous PartyPoker Tour events this year, poker.pro have once been honored to host a tournament of their own during the Glasgow stop. Not only was the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E the first-ever time ever the discipline was played in a Pot-limit format, but it was also the first-ever H.O.R.S.E live poker tournament to be held at the Alea Casino.
It became evident very early on, though, that Mixed Games is popular in Scotland. 59 entries were made in the tournament, creating a £2,832 prize pool. When all was said and done, it was Christopher Johnston who emerged victorious, claiming the £927 first-place payout.
£60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E – Results
Place Player Prize 1 Christopher Johnston £927 2 William Lynch £610 3 John Woods £370 4 Ross Holmes £250 5 Brian Leddy £180 6 Jeraint “JJ” Hazan £150 7 Jason Glatzer £130 8 Martin Bryne £115 9 William McLeod £100 Also, as of the second day, three of the three of the PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors were on-site. Glenn Brown, Asif Warris and Alexander Georgiev all participated in various tournaments on Wednesday. Brown (169,000) managed to bag from Day 1b of the Mini Main Event, while Georgiev and Warris came up short. Perhaps, they will take another shot in the Day 1d flight. The remaining ambassadors – Joe Beevers, Natalie Bromley, Sam Acheampong and Barry Carter – are all rumored to arrive later during the festival.
Alexander Georgiev, one of the seven PartyPoker Team Ambassadors Thursday, August 14, will be the biggest day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow so far. Not only is Day 2 of the Mini Main Event on the schedule, but it’s also time for the £500 Main Event to make its first appearance. The action will ramp up significantly, and Glasgow seems to be ready for it.

Alea Casino – A Brief History
The Alea Casino in Glasgow, beatufilly reflected in the River Clyde. Photo: Conferences UK When it was determined that a PartyPoker Tour stop would be in Glasgow, the Alea Casino was the obvious choice. The Clyde River is near the aesthetic casino, which offers an excellent venue for a top-notch live poker event.
The Alea Casino hosted the 2025 Glasgow Poker Festival in March (part of the Irish Poker Tour). Irishman Andrew Toole won the £400 Main Event for £53,000, and with that cash alone, he’s number one on the venue rankings for the casino on The Hendon Mob.
That being said, the liver poker scene is alive and well in Glasgow, and the Alea Casino is the epicenter of all the fun. They have self-dealt tournaments all the days of the week; In fact, this reporter participated in the £35 Monday Deepstack the other day, and finished ninth out of roughly 200 entries. The casino also offer cash games with certified dealers.
After the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow, the next bigger live event at the Alea Casino will be the September Series, running September 1-7. The highlight will be a £110 Main Event with a £15,000, but the tournament schedule features a variety of interesting tournaments, such as the £75 Mystery Bounty.
There’s no question about it; Alea Casino is a great venue, and hopefully, they’ll host prestigious live poker events for years to come.

Former Winners
The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is the third PartyPoker event of the year. The first event was held at Gentings Casino (formerly Aspers) in London, and it marked PartyPoker’s much-anticipated comeback to the live poker scene.

Gajanthan Kamalanathan Level 27: 50,000/100,000 (100,000) Entries: 6/468 Prizes: £58,406 Christian Watt opened to 200,000 UTG. Seated in the Big Blind, Gajanthan Kamalanathan was the sole caller.
Both players checked the 3♥K♣6♥ flop. Kamalanathan then check-called a 250,000 bet from Watt on the 7♠ turn. Kamalanathan checked again on the 6♠ river. Watt sized up and bet 975,000, and Kamalanathan made the call as fast as humanly possible.
Christian Watt: J♠10♣
Gajanthan Kamalanathan: K♠9♠Kamalanathan’s read was right, and he took some chips from Watt, who currently is the chip leader after winning some decently-sized pots here and there.
Christian Watt: 7,200,000
Gajanthan Kamalanathan: 4,900,000 -
Callum Reid Eliminated in 7th Place (£1,665)
Christian Watt: 5,650,000

Gajanthan Kamalanathan: 6,550,000

Marc Moody Eliminated in 9th Place (£1,021)
Marc Moody Level 26: 40,000/80,000 (80,000) Entries: 8/468 Prizes: £58,406 During the very first hand of the final table, action folded all the way to chip leader Gajanthan Kamalanathan.

Table-Seat Player Chips Big Blinds 1-1 Zhen Zhen 990,000 33 1-2 Jaime Staples 1,835,000 61 1-3 Dean Lyall 615,000 21 1-4 Alan Chrzaszcz 880,000 29 1-5 David Lappin 4,100,000 137 1-6 Kyle Scott 1,600,000 53 1-7 Kevin Frame 700,000 23 1-8 John Woods 1,030,000 34 1-9 Killie Rab 1,050,000 35 After winning the ridicously large pot against Henderson, Lappin will enter tomorrow’s final table as the chip leader.

Kevin Frame Level 15: 20,000/40,000 (40,000) Entries: 7/256 Prizes: £111,820 Seated in the Hi-jack, Kevin Frame committed 425,000 out of his 475,000 stack to a pre-flop raise. John Woods made the call from the Cut-off, prior to PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples forcing Woods all-in for 1,285,000 in total. Frame made the call for his last couple of chips. A confused Woods then revealed he was under the impression that Frame initially was all in, but that didn’t matter in the end, as Woods had a relatively easy call.
Kevin Frame: 9♦9♣
Jaime Staples: Q♦Q♠
John Woods: A♠A♦Not the ideal scenario either for Frame or Staples. The 5♣10♣J♦ flop brought them both some backdoor draws, but ultimately, Woods won it all as the board completed with 3♦8♠. This resulted in Frame being eliminated in eighth place, Staples was left short, and Woods won a very big pot.
John Woods: 3,250,000
Jaime Staples: 300,000

Alan Chrzaszcz Eliminated in 9th Place (£2,600)
Level 15: 20,000/40,000 (40,000) Entries: 8/256 Prizes: £111,820 Action folded to Alan Chrzaszcz, who moved all in for 660,000 from the Cut-off. Kyle Scott re-shoved from the Small Blind, and soon enough, the two players were heads-up to the flop, with Chrzaszcz being the player at risk.
Alan Chrzaszcz: K♥10♥
Kyle Scott: A♣K♦Scott was ahead, and he still looked good on the 8♠3♥2♣ flop. Chrzaszcz picked up a flush draw on the 6♥ turn, but the 4♣ offered him no help. Chrzaszcz became the first casualty of the final table, cashing £2,600 for his ninth-place finish.
Kyle Scott: 2,525,000

Zhen Gets Some Back
Level 14: 15,000/30,000 (30,000) Entries: 9/256 Prizes: £111,820 Killie Rab opened to 60,000 from UTG+1. Seated right next to him, Zhen Zhen (UTG+2) was the sole caller.
Both players checked the 6♥J♥K♣ flop. Rab bet 65,000 on the 3♥ turn, and Zhen made the call. On the J♦ river, Rab bet 220,000; roughly half of what Zhen had left. After some consideration, Zhen decided to make the call.
Killie Rab: A♠K♠
Zhen Zhen: A♦J♦It was a good river for Zhen, who won a very crucial pot.
Zhen Zhen: 1,100,000
Killie Rab: 900,000 -
Lyall Doubles Through Zhen
Zhen Zhen Level 14: 15,000/30,000 (30,000) Entries: 9/256 Prizes: £111,820 Action folded to Zhen Zhen, who opened to 60,000 from the Cut-off. The well-merited Dean Lyall then moved all in for 555,000 from the Small Blind. After receiving the count, Zhen made the call.
Dean Lyall: 9♠9♣
Zhen Zhen: 8♥8♣It wasn’t looking good for Zhen, and she was drawing dead on the A♠9♥3♠ flop. The board completed 10♦7♦, and Lyall received a full double-up.
Dean Lyall: 1,170,000
hen Zhen: 415,000 -
