That’s a Decent Flop
Level 15: 3,000/6,000 (6,000) Entries: 64/468 Prizes: £58,406 Seated UTG, Jezz Rose opened to 12,000. James Holland, seated in the Big Blind, was the sole caller.
Holland checked the 2♠10♥2♣ flop, prior to Rose betting 12,000. Then, Holland clicked it back to 24,000. Rose made the call quickly.
Action went check-check on the 7♦ turn. On the 8♣ river, Holland fired a 80,000 bet into the 81,000 pot.
“You really want me to call with ace-high, don’t you?” Rose asked his opponent. He considered a call for a couple of minutes, before he decided to let his hand go. Being a good sport, Holland revealed his 10♣10♦ holdings.

2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow Day 2: poker.pro-branded Tournament Writes Scottish Mixed Games History
The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is in full swing, and yesterday (Wednesday, August 13) was the second day of the six-day festival. It was a thrilling day in the Scottish capital which offered not only two £150 Mini Main Event starting flights, but also, a new chapter was written in the Scottish poker history books, as the first-ever H.O.R.S.E live poker tournament in Alea Casino history took place.
Moody Bags Big in Mini Main Event
The £150 Mini Main Event is destined to become one of the biggest tournaments during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow. The three-day affair holds four starting day flights; Day 1a was played Tuesday, August 12, while Day 1b and Day 1c both both were featured on the Wednesday schedule.
Day 1b was the earlier of the flights, kicking off at 14:00. 138 entries meant that the flight collected £17,222 towards the prize pool. After roughly seven hours of play, the remaining 28 players (i.e., 20 % of the field) all received a bag for their chips. They will be reunited with them on August 14, 18:00, when Day 2 kicks off. Paul McAulay proved to be the most prominent player in Day 1b, as he bagged 462,000.
The turbo flight of the Mini Main Event, Day 1c, commenced at 20:00. Late registration closed with 106 entries, and 19 players made it through to Day 2. Marc Moody bagged an impressive 718,000, making him the current chip leader of the Mini Main Event.
While there still is the hyper-turbo 1d flight to go (August 14, 13:00), the prize pool currently is £48,547.
Poker.pro-branded Tournament Writes Scottish Poker History
As has been the case for the two previous PartyPoker Tour events this year, poker.pro have once been honored to host a tournament of their own during the Glasgow stop. Not only was the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E the first-ever time ever the discipline was played in a Pot-limit format, but it was also the first-ever H.O.R.S.E live poker tournament to be held at the Alea Casino.
It became evident very early on, though, that Mixed Games is popular in Scotland. 59 entries were made in the tournament, creating a £2,832 prize pool. When all was said and done, it was Christopher Johnston who emerged victorious, claiming the £927 first-place payout.

Glenn Brown, Asif Warris and Alexander Georgiev all participated in various tournaments on Wednesday. Brown (169,000) managed to bag from Day 1b of the Mini Main Event, while Georgiev and Warris came up short. Perhaps, they will take another shot in the Day 1d flight. The remaining ambassadors – Joe Beevers, Natalie Bromley, Sam Acheampong and Barry Carter – are all rumored to arrive later during the festival.
Alexander Georgiev, one of the seven PartyPoker Team Ambassadors Thursday, August 14, will be the biggest day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow so far. Not only is Day 2 of the Mini Main Event on the schedule, but it’s also time for the £500 Main Event to make its first appearance. The action will ramp up significantly, and Glasgow seems to be ready for it.

First Main Event Flight on Thursday’s Schedule
Good morning, Glasgow! It’s another sunny day in Scotland, and it’s the third day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow. Without a doubt, today is when the action really amps up, and highlights on today’s schedule features Day 2 of the £150 Mini Main Event, as well as the first flight of the £500 Main Event. Without further ado, let’s break down today’s tournament schedule.
Those who haven’t been able to bag for Day 2 of the Mini Main Event today will have one more chance today, as Day 1d is the first tournament on today’s schedule. As is the case with all the starting flights, Day 1d will play down to 20 % of the field. The difference compared to the previous flights is that this is a hyper turbo with 15-minute levels.
Then, it’s time for the star of the show, as Day 1a of the Main Event kicks off at 14:00. The tournament was a slam dunk both in London and Manchester, and all signs point to the Glasgow edition being yet another success. The champion from Manchester, Deniz Orhan, is on-site, and of course, he’ll try to defend his Main Event title.
At 18:00, Day 2 of the Mini Main Event will commence, and that’s what the poker.pro live coverage team will focus on today. Soon enough, the chip counts from Day 1c will be published, as well as the Day 2 seat draw.

Alea Casino – A Brief History
The Alea Casino in Glasgow, beatufilly reflected in the River Clyde. Photo: Conferences UK When it was determined that a PartyPoker Tour stop would be in Glasgow, the Alea Casino was the obvious choice. The Clyde River is near the aesthetic casino, which offers an excellent venue for a top-notch live poker event.
The Alea Casino hosted the 2025 Glasgow Poker Festival in March (part of the Irish Poker Tour). Irishman Andrew Toole won the £400 Main Event for £53,000, and with that cash alone, he’s number one on the venue rankings for the casino on The Hendon Mob.
That being said, the liver poker scene is alive and well in Glasgow, and the Alea Casino is the epicenter of all the fun. They have self-dealt tournaments all the days of the week; In fact, this reporter participated in the £35 Monday Deepstack the other day, and finished ninth out of roughly 200 entries. The casino also offer cash games with certified dealers.
After the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow, the next bigger live event at the Alea Casino will be the September Series, running September 1-7. The highlight will be a £110 Main Event with a £15,000, but the tournament schedule features a variety of interesting tournaments, such as the £75 Mystery Bounty.
There’s no question about it; Alea Casino is a great venue, and hopefully, they’ll host prestigious live poker events for years to come.

Nine to the Rescue
Level 15: 3,000/6,000 (6,000) Entries: 68/468 Prizes: £58,406 A big-stacked Thomas Nardini opened to 12,000 UTG, and George Wilson Jr made the call from UTG+1. When action came to Martin Bryne in the Big Blind, he paused his chat with Glenn Brown, and moved all in for 43,000. Nardini made the call, while Wilson Jr decided to muck his hand.
Martin Bryne: 9♥9♣
Thomas Nardini: A♥A♦Not the ideal scenario for Bryne, but the 3♣2♣Q♣ offered him extra outs. The turn wasn’t a club, but it was the 9♦. Bryne overtook the lead, and Nardini wasn’t able to catch up as the river was the 10♦. Such, Bryne’s journey in the £150 Mini Main Event continues.

The Bubble has Burst
Level 14: 2,500/5,000 (5,000) Entries: 71/468 Prizes: £58,406 With 73 players left in the tournament, there were two all in-situations on two different tables.
After one elimination on the first table, focus switched to Table 7. David Langsdale had moved all in for 109,000 from the Hi-jack, and Yuze Li made the call from the Button.
David Langsdale: A♣K♦
Yuze Li: A♥A♦Langsdale was in really rough shape, and as Li hit a set on the 2♣A♠3♣ flop Langsdale was hoping for a runner-runner flush. The Q♦8♠ runout didn’t help him, and has he was eliminated in seventy-second place, the remaining 71 players secured a £260 min-cash.
Yuze Li: 455,000
David Langsdale: 0 -
Hawkes Gets There
Level 14: 2,500/5,000 (5,000) Entries: 87/468 Prizes: £58,406 Daniel Hawkes opened to 10,000 UTG. Thomas Nardini then raised to 25,000 from the Button. Things would get even more spicy, as James Gibbons moved all in for 112,000 from the Big Blind. Hawkes didn’t hesitate before re-shoving for 165,000. Nardini pondered for a minute or two, before he decided to fold.
James Gibbons: J♥J♣
Daniel Hawkes: A♠K♦The flip went the way of Hawkes, as the board spelled out Q♥K♥2♠10♦Q♦. He sent Gibbons to the rail as he improved his stack significantly.
Daniel Hawkes: 295,000

Dougan Finds a Big One

Seated in UTG+1, Orhan opened to 9,000, prior to Arvio Hysenaj moving all in for 85,000 from the Lo-jack. When action came to Ronald Dougan in the Big Blind, he re-shoved for 170,000. Orhan folded, before the contestants revealed their holdings.
Arvio Hysenaj: J♥J♦
Ronald Dougan: A♥A♣Dougan had his opponent in rough shape, and as he improved to a set on the K♣3♥9♣A♠2♣ runout, he sent Hysenaj to the rail.

Place Player Prize 1 Christopher Johnston £927 2 William Lynch £610 3 John Woods £370 4 Ross Holmes £250 5 Brian Leddy £180 6 Jeraint “JJ” Hazan £150 7 Jason Glatzer £130 8 Martin Bryne £115 9 William McLeod £100 Also, as of the second day, three of the three of the PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors were on-site.

Asif Warris, aka “the Poker Tourist”, loves traveling the world playing various live poker events. He has a 68,000 stack after recently winning a decently-sized pot.
Glenn Brown, the well-renowned poker host, didn’t survive last night’s Day 1a flight. Things are looking somewhat better for him now, though, as he’s playing 65,000.
Perhaps the other PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors – Joe Beevers, Natalie Bromley, Barry Carter, and Sam Acheampong – will show up later this week; time will tell.
