  • Ramaz Haymour Defeats Thomas Taylor for PLO Big Bounty Crown

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:1/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:3:40 AM

It was a topsy-turvy heads-up that saw both players leading and on the verge of taking it down. Ramaz Haymour started heads up with the lead, but Taylor took control with a boat to double into the lead.

Haymour was on the ropes until he rivered a king for a stay-alive double, then a few hands later, he flopped a set of eights against Taylor’s top-top with a gutty, and the set held to give Haymour a big lead.

    Final Hand E12

In the final hand, Taylor flopped a pair of fives against a pair of threes for Haymour, but a trey on the turn gave Haymour the trips and the win. Haymour has a couple of Circuit rings from Calgary, but this is his first crystal from the Pure Poker Tour.

  • Haymour Back to the Lead

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:2/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:3:25 AM

I arrived at the hand with the flop showing J84. Haymour had a bet of 70k out, but was facing a pot bet from Taylor. He tanked for a bit before shoving, and Taylor snapped it off.

Haymour had KQ88 for the set, versus AJ65 for Taylor. Taylor found two pair on the A turn, but after the 6 river completed the board, Haymour’s set was ahead. That dropped Taylor to a bit more than 400k, giving Haymour around 1.4 million.

  • Haymour Doubles to Stay Alive

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:2/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:3:15 AM

Thomas Taylor raised to 25k, then called when Ramaz Hayour potted. The flop was 872 and Haymour potted, Taylor repotted, and Haymour called all in.

    Thomas Taylor: 8654
    Ramaz Haymour: AK96

Haymour was open-ended, against a pair of eights and open-ended draw. The 3 turn didn’t change anything, but the K river gave Haymour the bigger pair and the double up. Taylor still has the lead.

  • Taylor Takes a Big Lead

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:2/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:3:05 AM

Thomas Taylor opened to 20k, then called when Ramaz Haymour made it 60k to go. Haymour fied 50k on the 4A3 flop, and Taylor called to the 4 turn.

Haymour bet 230k, and Taylor smooth-called to the 8 river where Haymour shoved the covering stack. Taylor called, showing Q854 for the riverboat, and after a few seconds of checking his hand against the board, Haymour folded. When the pot was complete, Haymour was left with about 300k behind.

  • David Cox Out in 3rd Place for

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:3/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:2:45 AM
    David Cox

David Cox raised the button to 34k, and Thomas Taylor called from the small blind. Taylor checked the K27 flop, then potted to 184k after Cox bet 40k.

Cox tossed in his bounty chip for all in, and Taylor called it off with a bit less. Both players hit the king. Cox had a jack kicker, but Taylor’s seven connected for two pair, and another seven on the turn left Cox drawing very thin. The 5 river wasn’t what he needed, and he was left with fumes and busted the next hand.

    Thomas Taylor: K1087
    David Cox: KJJ2

    Board: K2775

  • Adam Huxley Out in 4th Place for $1,705

    Local Time:2:40 AM
    Adam Huxley

Adam Huxley limped in first to act, then called when Ramaz Haymour potted from the small blind and big stack. Haymour potted the JQ5 flop, then called when Huxley shoved for a bit more.

Huxley had 7554 against AK99. Haymour’s nines were good for a boat after the JJ runout, and Huxley was out in 4th place.

Thomas Taylor raised to 12k, and it was a family pot with everyone calling. They all checked the K94 flop, but when it checked to Taylor on the 10 turn, he fired 30k. Ramaz Haymour and David Cox folded, but Adam Huxley stuck around for the 8 river.

Taylor bet 50k, and after some time in the tank, Huxley called. “Straight,” said Taylor, showing KJJ7 for the jack-high straight.

I’ll get chip counts for the remaining players in about 10 minutes at the break, but Ramaz Haymour has the big lead right now.

    Entries:11/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:12:15 AM

The side game is down to 11 players left, 4 eliminations off the money spots. Level 12 has about 20 minutes to play, and the average stack is just shy of 70 bigs.

  • 13 Remain

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:13/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:12:05 AM

The side game field is down to 13 remaining with just a couple of minutes to play in Level 11. The average stack is 72 big binds right now, but will drop to 57 when the level changes.

I’m still watching the endgame of Event #11, so this game is only getting numbers coverage until that one finishes.

  • Seven Off the Money

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:14/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:11:55 PM

The side game is now down to 14 players remaining, with about 10 minutes to play in Level 11. The average stack is now 66 bigs, but will drop to 53 bigs in 10 minutes if no one else busts.

  • Down to 16

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:16/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:11:40 PM

They are down to 16 remaining in the PLO Big Bounty, with the average stack just shy of 60 big blinds. Level 11 has just begun.

  • Final Two Tables

    Level:10 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:18/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:11:10 PM

The side game is down to 18 remaining, 11 off the money spots. The average stack at the moment is almost 70 big blinds, however, so despite the small remaining field, I’m still expecting this one to be a late one. I won’t be watching this one until Event #11 ends.

  • 62 Entries (Unofficial) on the Side

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:19/62
    Prizes:$29,450 ($17,050 prizes, $12,400 bounties)
    Local Time:10:45 PM

I’m waiting on the prizes to confirm the numbers, but it looks like the PLO Big Bounty field ended at 62 entries tonight. If that holds, 7 players will share in $17,050 for the payouts, with an extra $12,400 in the bounty pool.

  • 55 Entries on the Side; Just Over an Hour to Enter

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:22/55
    Prizes:$26,125 ($15,125 prizes, $11,000 bounties)
    Local Time:9:30 PM

The side game is now up to 55 entries for combined prizes of more than $26k. $11k of that is in the bounty pool, with $15,125 reserved for payouts later tonight. Just under 25 minutes remain in Level 7, with entries set to close at the start of Level 9.

  • More than $20k in Combined Prizes

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:27/44
    Prizes:$20,900 ($12,100 prizes, $8,800 bounties)
    Local Time:7:40 PM

The side game field is up to 44 entries, with about 25 minutes to play in Level 4. Entries are still open for a bit less than 3 hours, and I expect a lot of players from Event #11 to jump into this one as they bust from there.

  • More than 30 Entries

    Level:2 (100/200/200)
    Entries:24/32
    Prizes:$15,200 ($8,800 prizes, $6,400 bounties)
    Local Time:7:00 PM

The combined prizes are over $15k now, with 32 entries on the board. A bit more than 5 minutes remain in Level 2, and among the new faces I’ve spotted in this one are Tina Nguyen (who was runner-up in the Double Board Bomb Pot on Monday night), Levi Jones, who won the PLO Deepstack Hyper on the weekend, Sandy Lam, Leo Zhang, Danh Huynh (who was deep in the Deepstack Hyper), David Cox, who won the Deepstack Hyper last series and was runner-up this time, and Ming Ashing.

  • $12k in Combined Prizes

    Level:2 (100/200/200)
    Entries:21/26
    Prizes:$12,350 ($7,150 prizes, $5,200 bounties)
    Local Time:6:40 PM

Level 2 has just begun in the side game, with the field now at 26 entries. That puts the combined prizes over $12k, with $5,200 of that in the bounty pool.

  • 15 Entries on the Side

    Level:1 (100/100/100)
    Entries:15/15
    Prizes:$7,125 ($4,125 prizes, $3,000 bounties)
    Local Time:6:20 PM

About 20 minutes remain in the opening level of play in Event #12, and the opening field is 15 entries. That puts the combined prizes at more than $7k, with $3k of that in the bounty pool.

Ron Lauzon, Dylan Descheneaux, Justin Pennell, Brady O’Hara, Jody Fayant, Ambrose Ng, and Josh Myers are among the players in early action in this one.

  • PLO Big Bounty on the Side

    Date:May 13, 6 PM
    Blinds:30 Minutes
    Starting Stack:30k
    Late Entry:8 Levels (~10:30 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The side game on Wednesday night promises to be a late one. The PLO Big Bounty kicks off at 6 PM, and blinds are 30 minutes long.

Players start the day with 30k in chips, and they have 8 levels to enter or rebuy. That should put the last to chance to enter this one at about 10:30 PM. Note that the structure says there is a 30-minute dinner break following Level 8, but that is a misprint, and all breaks in this one will be the standard 15 minutes.

This is a one-day event, so they’ll award the trophy before it ends, but players should expect this one to go quite late due to the 30-minute blinds and the PLO format.

Paul Shakir, winner of PLO Big Bounty

In February’s series, Paul Shakir scored his first live win in this game. He was heads up against Cam Stewart over a field of 87 entries and combined prizes of more than $41k. The game in February lasted 13 hours, but it was also an early 1 PM start – I’d expect the game to run until at least 4 AM this time around, but players could be at the felt as late as 7 AM, depending on the field and the pace of play.
