2026 Pure Poker Tour Series #4 – Event #8: $450 PLO Double Board Bomb Pot

Level:	23 – 80000
Entries:	1/67
Prizes:	$24,560
Local Time:	5:30 AM

Before this series began, Khairuddin Akbari had no wins, and just a single cash on his Hendon Mob profile. Now, less than halfway through the series, he has two trophies to add to his profile. He chopped the $340 NLH a couple of nights ago, taking the win in a 4-way ICM deal, and tonight, he went from the short stack when they started the final table, to the winner.

He had to come from behind all night, as he was about 2:1 down to runner-up Richie Tran to start the final phase. That stayed the same through most of the heads up, as they chopped a lot of pots, and traded a few smaller scoops to keep the stacks roughly the same,

That changed quickly when Akbari scooped a pot with two pair on the top, and boat over boat on the bottom. That gave him the lead, and it wasn’t long until Tran’s final chips went in.

Akbari check-shoved the flops over Tran’s bet of 120k, and Tran called it off with a pair on top and straight draws on the bottom. Akbari had already hit his diamonds on the top, and when the board ran out, he hit his hearts on the bottom for the double-flush scoop and his second PPT trophy in three days.

On the 8♠7♥10♥ & K♦3♥5♣ flops, Khairuddin Akbari check-called for 100k. After another check from Akbari on the K♠ & A♦ turns, Richie Tran potted to 330k and Akbari flatted.

Tran potted again after a check on the Q♣ & K♥ rivers, and Albari repotted all-in. Tran called, but Akbari had two pair on the top and a boat on the bottom with A♣K♣Q♥6♣ against J♠10♦3♦3♣ for Tran, who also had a boat on the bottom, but it was smaller, and just a single pair on top.

Colten Yamagishi was nearly felted after Khairuddin Akbari scooped a pot against him, and Yamagishi was all in for the ante in the next hand. Richie Tran bet 50k on the J♠Q♣7♦ & Q♠10♣8♠ flops.

That pushed out Akbari, leaving Yamagishi with K♦10♦3♦2♥ against Q♥10♠6♣5♣ for Tran, and Tran scooped it when the boards ran out 4♣3♥ & 5♦6♠.

Akbari & Tran are now close to even, but it looks like Tran is slightly ahead.

Tina Nguyen was the short stack for most of four-handed play, and she had just 20k behind after paying the ante. That 20k went in on the 5♠J♠7♣ & 6♦2♠3♦ flops and everyone at the table called. The remaining players checked the 9♥ & 9♠ turns, but Richie Tran led for 100k on the 5♣ & A♣ rivers.

Colten Yamagishi called, while Khairuddin Akbari mucked. Tran showed a spade flush on the bottom, while Yamagishi had a straight to the jack on top, leaving Nguyen’s nine-high straight as second best, and she was out for 4th place.

Tran is still sitting on the big stack.

The side game is now down to the money bubble, but I’m still watching the five-handed play in Event #7. I don’t have a full handle on all the chips, but it looks like Richie Tran is the chip leader right now with a bit less than 800k, but Jeric Ragadio looks to be pretty close behind.

The prizes are in for the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot, and the field is confirmed at 67. That means 7 players will share in $25,460 in prizes, with the winner set to pocket more than $9k. There are 12 players remaining, 5 off the money, but with Event #7 just hitting the money, it’s unclear if this game will get any coverage beyond the final results, as I’ll be focusing my attention first on Event 7.

Event #8: $450 PLO Double Board Bomb Pot ($400 + $50)

Date:	Sep 21, 6 PM
Blinds:	25 Minutes
Starting Stack:	50k
Late Entry:	9 Levels (Entries Close about 10:10 PM
Day 1 Ends:	One-Day Event

The Monday night side game promises to be a bit crazy. The PLO Double Board Bomb Pot game tends to lead to a lot of action, and I expect today to be no different.

The action gets going at 6 PM, and players have 9 levels to get into that game. That should put the last entry at about 10:10 PM, with the game playing to a winner after that. Players start the game with 50k in chips, and levels are 25 minutes long (15 Minutes heads up).

This game didn’t run in July or last September, so there isn’t much history to report on. This game did run in PPT #2, where Tina Nguyen & Ross Wilson were the top two players from a field of 93 for prizes of $35,340
