Jordan Banfield raised to 30k under the gun, then called it off with a bit more when Brett Doty shoved the big blind. It was a race between ace-ten for Doty and sixes for Banfield. The Q♠7♦2♣8♥J♦ was clean for the sixes, and Banfield got a near double up after sending Doty home.

I missed the action while writing the previous hand and updating the side game, but they are now down to 4 remaining in the Big Bounty after Michael St. Pierre-Porter busted for 5th place tonight.

Jordan Banfield opened under the gun to 25k, and Nadav Bitton called from the cutoff. Banfield bet 25k on the J♥K♦9♣ flop, and 80k on the ppcn]2s[/pcn] turn, with Bitton calling both bets. On the A♠ river, Banfield shoved his remaining stack.

“You got there on the river,” Bitton said, folding king-queen face up. Banfield quietly showed that he flopped it instead, flashing pocket jacks to the table.

“Chai Tea” opened the cutoff to 25k, and Jordan Banfield called from the big blind.Banfield check-called for 30k on the J♠10♦K♠ flop, and again for 60k on the 3♦ turn.

He checked again on the 9♥ river, then called a bet of 90k. He showed a queen for the king-high straight, but he was behind the ace-queen Broadway for “Chai Tea”.

They are in the money in the Big Bounty now, with 7 players left. Ed Sorensen was the first to exit the final table on the soft bubble, while Steve Azizi just went out on the hard bubble when his tens were cracked by the pocket fives for Nadav Bitton when Bitton flopped a set.

The remaining players are all guaranteed at least $575.

Dinner has just begun, and that means there are less than 30 minutes left to enter the Big Bounty game. The field to start the dinner break was 68 entries, but it seems likely that there will be several entries before the end of dinner, likely leaving the field somewhere between 70 and 80 when the desk closes. I’ll update the final numbers shortly after the dinner break is over.

The combined prizes are now over $30k as the game enters the final level of entry. They’ll go for a 30-minute dinner break following this level, putting the end of entries just under an hour away.

With about 20 minutes to play in Level 7, the field is at 58 entries. That puts the combined prizes at $27,550, with $11,600 of that in the bounty pool. Entries are still open for about 1 hour & 20 minutes.

Level 5 has less than 5 minutes to play, and the field is at 50 entries. There are still two hours left to enter the game or rebuy, so it seems likely the numbers will push toward 70 or 80 before entries close after dinner.

The main game on Tuesday is the NLH Big Bounty. The game has a flat $200 bounty on every player, with $300 from the $560 buy in going to the prize pool.

Players start the day with 30k in chips, and levels last for 30 minutes. Players can buy-in or rebuy through the start of Level 9, which should be about 5:45 PM. This is a one-day event, so they’ll award a trophy before the end of the day.

There wasn’t a version of this game in the first series of the year, so there’s nothing to compare to, and no defending champion to report on. I’ll be focusing on this as my main game on Tuesday, but expect me to be late to the game, arriving sometime after the first break.
