Christian Martin opened to 425,000 under the gun, and Andres Carbonell defended the big blind.
The 10♦7♥2♠ flop was checked to the 5♠ turn, where Carbonell bet 1,500,000, leaving himself 325,000 behind, and called off versus an all-in from Martin.
Andres Carbonell: K♠10♣
Christian Martin: 5♥5♦
It was top pair versus the turned set, and Carbonell was dead, and the 8♣ river completed the board, the players sharing a handshake and hug before Carbonell departed.
Martin has now established a reasonable lead over Staples at the top of the standings.
Christian Martin – 9,600,000
Andres Carbonell – 0
