Emmanouil Livanos of Greece has emerged as the last player standing in the 2026 Novibet Greek Poker Odyssea Main Event, securing the trophy after a three-way deal with Borislav Yosifov of Bulgaria and compatriot Fotios Ntamaris left only the destination of the silverware to be decided.

At the time of the deal, Livanos and Yosifov were almost level in chips, Yosifov with a slight lead, and the Bulgarian took the biggest sum of €61,676, and Livanos €61,186. Ntamaris, who lagged in third, banked €46,448, slightly more than the ICM value of his stack, in exchange for agreeing to step aside from the battle for the trophy.

Borislav Yosifov

Livanos looked almost certain to exit in twelfth at the end of Day 2, but he spiked quads on the river against Yosifov in a crazy hand to survive. He certainly made the most of the one-outer, going on to seal a famous victory on home soil.

The result represents a new career-best live tournament score for Livanos, primarily an online grinder, smashing his previous best result of $3,164 in the live arena.

The key hands for Livanos were a huge aces versus kings cooler against Dimitris Zournatzidis to propel him into the lead with four left, and he then held in a key flip against Lulei Hu to send the Italian to the rail in fourth.

After the exit of the talented Hu, the players immediately stopped for deal discussions, and after a lengthy period of negotiation, agreement was reached.

Livanos and Yosifov played on for the trophy, and Livanos brought the contest to an end in relatively short order to take the title, sparking emotional celebrations with friends on the rail.

Winner’s Reaction

After four days of intense battle at the Regency Casino in Thessaloniki, Livanos was understandably exhausted, and said “It feels amazing, really happy. I’ve had a few good scores online, I haven’t played a huge amount live, and it feels great to win and get more experience. I ran good at some points, played good at some points, and the rest is history.”

Final Day Recap

The 414-runner field created a €372,600 prize pool, a record for a Novibet event in Greece, and eight players returned for the final day, with Apostolos Kofidis in the lead, closely followed by Yosifov, while Livanos was in the middle of the pack.

Apostolos Kofidis

Coolers were the early order of the day, as relative short-stack Emmanouil Asgoudakis was the first to go in a queens versus kings spot against Livanos. The champion was on the right end of another brutal hand against Kofidis to damage the chip leader, before he sent Dimitar Toshev to the rail in seventh in a blind on blind spot.

Livanos suffered a setback when he ran queens into Hu’s aces, and Kofidis’ crashed out in sixth when his trip snowmen were second best versus the full house of Zournatzidis.

A lengthy period of deep-stacked five-handed play then followed, with chips being traded back and forth, and Yosifov generally in the lead. Ntamaris doubled twice to stay in it, and Livanos survived a flip for his tournament life by counterfeiting Yosifov on the river.

It looked like another cooler was going to be required to break the deadlock, and it duly arrived when Zournatzidis four-bet jammed kings into Livanos’ aces.

Another significant period of four-handed combat ensued, and Livanos and Hu stretched ahead of Yosifov and Ntamaris. Matters started to go wrong for Hu when he doubled Yosifov when ahead preflop, and he then came off worst in a flip against Livanos’ Big Slick.

Lulei Hu

Vague feelers about a deal had been put out at various points in five-handed and four-handed play, but Hu had always made it clear he was not interested in discussions. As soon as he exited, the final three paused to begin negotiations.

The deal was struck, leaving only the destination of the trophy to be decided, with Ntamaris agreeing to step aside for an increased payout compared to his stack’s ICM value.

Fotios Ntamaris

Only around twenty minutes more play were required to end the tournament, when Yosifov jammed king-high into Livanos’ ace-high, and an ace in the window gave Livanos the title.
