In a hand between Valentin Ivanov in the cutoff and Christian Martin on the button, 96,000 had made its way into the middle on a completed board of A♦4♠2♦4♥Q♦.
Ivanov fired out a chunky overbet of 253,000, leaving himself 20,000 behind, sending Martin into the tank.
After around 90 seconds of deliberation, Martin made the call, and Ivanov grimaced as he tabled K♦J♥ for king-high.
Martin shouted “Yes!” and gave the table a good thump in celebration as he tabled A♠9♦ for top pair, sending him a huge pot and the chip lead in Day 1b.
Christian Martin – 1,175,000
Valentin Ivanov – 20,000
