It took more than 10 hours to finish out the $230 NLH game, but once the final seven players moved to the poker room at 3 AM, things went a bit quicker to start. Within 30 minutes of the move, they were down to 3 players after John Foley ended his run in 4th place.
Ramaz Haymour followed shortly after, setting up heads-up between Maru Somers and DJ Sharma. Sharma had done most of the damage to that point, knocking out all the players once they got to poker, until Somers sent Haymour out.
That gave Somers the lead going into the final phase, but Sharma quickly chipped up to a slight lead before Somers rivered an ace to win the race against Sharma’s jacks for a big double. That gave her the lead, and it wasn’t long before it all went in, on a reversal of sorts.
It was a near repeat of the Somers’ big double, with her playing the eights this time, and Sharma on the ace-overs. After the flop, Somers was in counterfeit danger, but she ran clean to the river when the board paired treys at the end.
