Payne Gets Near-Double with Second Nuts into Third

Dylan Payne just got a near-double with a huge cooler against Sam Gottiparthi. Payne raised to 100k, and Gottiparthi called to the J♦Q♣4♠. They both checked to the 10♥ turn.

Payne bet 40k before Gottiparthi raised it to 200k. Payne three-bet to 425k, and Gottiparthi called to the 3♥ river. Payne bet 940k, leaving just 100k behind, and Gottiparthi hit the tank. Payne stayed silent as Gottiparthi tried to elicit some info.

“Pocket Queens, buddy?” he asked before finally putting in the call. Neither player had the nuts, but between Payne’s K♥9♥ and Gottiparthi’s eight-nine, it was 2nd nuts into 3rd, and Gottiparthi had to pay off the big bet, leaving him short.
