The Friday night side game is a Progressive knockout, with $150 starting bounties. In the PKO format, when a player knocks out another player, half the busted bounty goes straight to the winner, while the other half goes onto the winner’s bounty. For example, if there’s a knockout on the first hand, the winning player will get $75 immediately, while the other $75 from the busted bounty adds onto the winner’s bounty, making their bounty $225 going forward.
The PKO action gets going at 6 PM on Friday evening, and players sit down with 20k in chips. Blinds are 25 minutes long, and players have 8 levels to get into the game or rebuy. That should put the final chance to enter at about 9:50 PM. After that, they’ll play to a winner before the end of the day.
Earlier this year in the Spring series, Wayne Hoffert took down the top PKO prize in a heads-up battle with Todd Oakley. They prevailed over 76 entries to take the top prizes from $21,660 ($10,260 prizes, $11,400 bounties) in total. They chopped at the end of the game, each taking the same PKO payout and keeping their bounties.
In last year’s Summer PKO game, Ismar Delic-Ibukic & Will Smith chopped the prizes at the end, keeping their bounties. They were the top two from 114 entries with prizes of $32,490 ($15,390 prizes, $17,100 bounties). My guess is that the 2026 Summer field will come in somewhere in the middle of those two events.
