Gatis Reigass Converts Chip Lead into Victory OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Opening Event

Meanwhile, Gatis Reigass did exactly what the chip leader at a poker festival final table is supposed to do: show up and win. The Latvian online poker veteran and Twitch streamer converted his overnight advantage into the first multi-day trophy of his live career, claiming the €250 NLH Opening Event for €5,638.

Nine players returned at noon. Reigass left with the trophy. The room did not slow down after that. The €350 NLH Deepstack Progressive Bounty ran its opening day in parallel, drawing 59 entries and finishing with Latvia’s Dāvis Daugaviņš holding the chip lead heading into Monday’s noon final day.

Reigass Converts the Lead to Win €250 NLH Opening Event

Reigass came back to the table with 685,000 chips, nearly 200,000 clear of Roberts Krīgers in second on the second and final day of the €250 NLH Opening Event. He has been a familiar name on the Baltic circuit for years, building his reputation primarily online and on the Optibet Poker Twitch stream, but live trophies have been harder to come by.

This one went his way. He navigated the final nine without losing the chip lead and sent Cyprus’s Stavros Onoufriou to the rail in heads-up for €4,613. Onoufriou had been the lone international in a field dominated by Latvians from the start and fought his way to the last two for a strong result in his festival debut at Voodoo.

Roberts Krīgers, who had bagged second overnight, finished third for €2,880. Dmitrijs Petrenko took fourth for €2,100. Eight of the 13 paid places went to Latvian players.

Defending Champion Daugaviņš Leads the €350 Deepstack PKO

The €350 NLH Deepstack Progressive Bounty opened on Sunday alongside the Opener final, drawing 59 entries for €11,476 in the regular prize pool and €5,900 in bounties, for €17,376 in total prizes. The event played into the money, with all returning players guaranteed at least €715 and the top two locked up for €2,830 each plus bounties.

Latvia’s Dāvis Daugaviņš headed to bed Sunday evening in an enviable position. Daugaviņš is not only the defending champion of this event at the 2026 OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Spring Edition, but he bagged up 434,000 chips Sunday night to emerge as the Final Day chip leader, with a small advantage over Toms Čivčs in second at 422,000.

Juris Bonders, who won the PLO Progressive Bounty trophy on opening night Saturday, returns in third at 254,000, looking to add a second piece of hardware to his collection this festival.

Norway’s Steffen Toerrresdal is the lone non-Latvian among the seven returning players, sitting fifth with 184,000. Monday’s champion earns the trophy and the final accumulated progressive bounty.

Monday Schedule (September 21)

Monday is a full day at Olympic Voodoo Casino. The Deepstack final table kicks off at noon with seven players returning, Daugaviņš holding the chip lead and Bonders in third looking for that second trophy. The big event of the afternoon is the €555 NLH Championship Day 1A, firing at 3 p.m. and open for late registration. The second starting flight runs Tuesday before the Championship Final Day on Wednesday, which poker.pro will live-report on-site.

A €30 satellite guaranteeing three Championship seats opens at 1 p.m. for anyone who wants to satellite in. The evening closes with a €200 PLO4/PLO5 at 8:30 p.m. Cash games are running 24/7 throughout the festival.
