Sebastian Crema was the chip leader early in this game, while Sam Brouillard dominated most of the endgame, so it was no surprise that they were the last two sitting with chips. Brouillard had a big lead at the final table, with more than 850k when they were nine-handed. With only 2.75 million in play, that meant he was playing more than a quarter of the chips at that point.
Crema was second with about half that, and that’s pretty much how it stayed, position-wise, until they got to three-handed, Brouillard never gave up the chip lead, but with play three-ways, second place was swapping back and forth between Denis Mucjin and Crema. Mucjin eventually went down to Crema in a brutal cooler that saw his pocket kings cracked by Crema’s six-four with two pair.

Crema was still about a 2:1 dog to Brouillard when they got heads up, and the players decided to smooth out the money a bit. Crema was very motivated to play tonight; earlier in the evening when they were three handed, he politely turned down a deal to end the game there that even he admitted was “very generous” because he wanted to play it out, so when they did cut a deal heads up, it was an ICM deal minus $400 from each payout to play for.
And he made a solid fight of it. He found a couple of double ups when he needed to, and was able to pick up blinds and antes with shoves. Brouillard wasn’t taking it quietly though; he had his own share of shoves to force Crema off his hands. They played for around 40 minutes to decide the final money and the winner.
There were less than 50 bigs on the table when it finally ended. Crema was down to just a couple hundred thousand with blinds at 30k/60k and he snap-called after Brouillard shoved his button. Crema had ace-seven off to queen-ten off for Brouillard, but Brouillard flopped a queen and held to take it all down.
That meant he won $4,660 from the deal, plus the extra $800 for $5,460 in total, while Crema pocketed the agreed upon $4,411.
