John Blomberg opened to 50,000 from UTG+1. Julia Kuusijärvi three-bet to 120,000 from the Cut-off before Mounir Tajiou four-bet shoved for around 600,000 from the Small Blind. After twisting and turning in his chair for a minute or two, Blomberg too moved all in, having Tajiou covered by the smallest or margins. Kuusijärvi sighed before getting out of the way.

Prior to the dealer dealing the flop, the two contestants hugged; “Let’s flip it,” Tajiou said. Blomberg maintained his lead on the 6♣8♦7♦ flop, and no luck for Tajiou on the Q♥4♥ runout, and the dealer counted out the two stacks which were, by the looks of it, pretty much even. It turned out that Blomberg hav Tajiou covered by the smallest of margins; as Tajiou headed to collect €1,230 for finishing sixty-third, Blomberg soared to the top of the chip count.
