“Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current.”
That, fellow poker enthusiasts, is a quote from “Meditations,” the journal of Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor from AD 161 until his passing. The meaning of the quote and the overall poem could be discussed for hours, but one way of interpreting it is that everything is in constant motion.
That is the perfect way to describe the PartyPoker Tour; it simply doesn’t stop. After two events more or less back-to-back in Manchester and London, the countdown has now begun for the sixth event of the year. The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is only a few weeks away, and the week-long poker festival is surely one of the highlights of the annual Scottish poker calendar.

To Alea We Ride
Christoffer Karlén, poker.pro journalist and live reporter, has spent nearly two years traveling all across Europe, working various live poker events in many different casinos. Alea Casino Glasgow is one of those, and it surely stands out on the list of venues visited. To find a poker room with windows is rare enough, even more so with a panoramic view of stunning scenery (in this case, the mighty River Clyde). It’s a top-of-the-charts place for poker, and it’s most certainly a fitting venue to host world class live poker events.

That is going to be the case in roughly three weeks’ time. The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow will be played August 3-8 at Alea Casino Glasgow, and considering PartyPoker keep raising the bar for live poker events in the UK (and Spain, for that matter) time and time again, the expectations are high. The schedule was released a few weeks ago, and just by scrolling through it quickly, it’s clear that all players are in for a treat.

First and foremost, the £500 Main Event is back in full flare. With a £100,000 guarantee, this three-day tournament has proved to be a winning concept. It’s been the star of the show of all the PartyPoker Tour events since the inaugural stop back in London, April, 2025, and with its deep structure, all contenders are getting great value for their money. There are four starting-day flights for the Glasgow edition, the first one kicking off on August 6. The fourth and final one is a hyper turbo, and it will be played early on August 8 before Day 2 commences later that day. All starting-day flights are playing down to 20% of the field, and those who survive will be re-united with their chips in Day 2. There, they will pick up the fight and try to secure a spot at the final table, which will be played on August 8, the final day of the festival. During last year’s event, Zhen Zhen conquered the field that consisted of 256 entries to claim the £22,500 first-place prize. With the title, Zhen became the first-ever (and still only) female PartyPoker Tour Main Event winner. Time will tell what incredible story will be written this year.

The £150 Mini Main Event is always the tournament on the PartyPoker Tour schedule that is the most popular one, and one can understand why. There are few other, if any, tournaments with such a relatively small buy-in that has such a sublime structure as the Mini Main Event has. A three-day tournament with four starting-day flights, a £50,000 guarantee, a live–streamed final table, and media coverage at the courtesy of poker.pro. It gets the treatment of a world-class live poker tournament that it deserves, and that explains the popularity of the event. Last year, Christian Watt claimed the title and the £10,260 up-top, as he navigated his way through a field that consisted of 468 entries.
There are also four poker.pro-branded tournaments on the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow. As the official English media partner of the PartyPoker Tour, poker.pro has hosted tournaments at every stop since the one in Manchester in 2025, and Glasgow in particular plays an important role in the poker.pro tournament history. That’s where the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E. was played for the first time, a tournament that has now become a standard on all PartyPoker Tour schedules. Jason Glatzer, poker.pro’s Head of Media, came up with the idea of playing the ever-so popular Mixed Games discipline solely Pot-limit, and it has proven to be a winning concept.

There’s also the £60 poker.pro PL Sviten Special. It’s been said before, but it’s worth saying again: there are no other game of poker that offers as much action as Sviten does. Combining Five-card Draw and PLO, cards and chips are guaranteed to be flying across the table faster than the speed of lightning, and there are zero dull moments when there’s Sviten on the schedule. The other poker.pro-branded tournaments are the £60 poker.pro Friday Party Madness Crazy Pineapple Bounty and the £60 poker.pro Saturday Party Madness NLH Red River Bounty, and there won’t be any yawning playing these two, either. While most players are familiar with Crazy Pineapple, Red River is more fresh on the market. The concept is simple: it’s your ordinary Texas NLH affair, but if the river is a red card (i.e., a heart or a diamond) another river is dealt. That is continued until a black river card stops the deal, and the players can then use the entire board. Perhaps a tad confusing at first, but boy, is it a lot of fun.
What’s more, JJ Hazan’s PLO Masters Series continues running adjacent with the PartyPoker Tour. There are four PLO Masters events on the schedule, where the £250 PLO Masters Main Event will be the most prestigious one. The reigning champion of the tournament in Glasgow is actually Hazan himself, and it’s an educated guess he’ll be on-site at Alea Casino, defending his title; who’ll be able to stop him?
Other intriguing events on the schedule includes the £1,000 High Roller 7-Max, the £200 NLH (Sponsored by Faded Spade), and the £60 Tennessee Glasgow Championship. Check out the full schedule below.

Ambassadors Reminisces
There are many reasons to explain the impressive growth of the PartyPoker Tour since it was founded roughly 15 months ago. One of them is the aforementioned structures, which you simply won’t find in other grassroots tournaments. Another one is the PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors, a team of 11 friendly faces that are doing a sublime job ensuring all visitors to the various stops feel at home. The last addition to their team of Ambassadors is Tony “Bomber” Bellew. The former British, Commonwealth, European, and WBC Cruiserweight Champion of the World is now taking his competitive skills to the poker tables, and he’s a marvelous addition to an already top-notch team.

poker.pro journalist Karlén asked two PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors and one PartyPoker Team Pro member to share their thoughts on the upcoming Glasgow stop, and also reminisce about last year’s event on Scottish soil. PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples has good memories from the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow, but he’s also looking for redemption this year:
“Last year, I had my best shot at a big trophy in Glasgow, final tabling the Main Event. I fell short, but of all the stops of that inaugural year, it was my favorite. The chat at the tables was always fun, many drinks were had, and it just had a proper poker spirit to it. I can’t wait to head back.”

Staples is not the only one with good memories from last year. During the 2025 stop, Carter claimed his first-ever live poker trophy, and he’s convinced Scotland is a great place for major live poker events:
“The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is perhaps my fondest poker memory. Not only is it a tremendously fun card room to play in, but I also took down my first live poker trophy. Ever since then, I have worked really hard to try to replicate my experience there, even though that experience mostly consisted of my PartyPoker colleagues heckling me and cheering for whoever I was involved in a hand with. I believe that UK poker has severely overlooked holding major events in Scotland, and I’m delighted that PartyPoker is bucking that trend.“
Last but not least, fresh off the 2026 WSOP in Las Vegas, Niall “Firaldo” Farrell is looking forward to a sublime live poker event on home soil:
“PartyPoker Tour Glasgow was an amazing stop last year. Glasgow is a fantastic place to play poker with lively characters and great patter, and if you are unfortunate enough to get eliminated, you get to spend time in one of my favorite cities in the world! Amazing restaurants and bars and a potentially surprising amount of culture with Kevingrove and the like, make this a must-attend stop.”

After hearing the words from Staples, Firaldo, and Carter, as well as browsing through the juicy schedule, there really is no doubt about it. The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow is going to be, pardon the language, one heck of a live poker event. As always, high praises for the PartyPoker Tour, who time and time again manages to raise the bar. What goes for media coverage, poker.pro is excited to be invited back, providing live updates from the Mini Main Event and the Main Event, as well as results from all the side events, recap articles, and general updates from everything that will go down at Alea Casino. The current at River Klyde will be strong, but it’s in the building next to it where the real strength will be shown.
