After two days of play at the 2026 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C) Calgary October, there are now three rings awarded, and a solid start for the Mini Main Event, which promises to be the biggest field of the series. Get all the details from the opening day here at Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary from the first event recap.
Day 2 of the series is now complete, with the only ring for the second day awarded in the Black Chip Bounty game. They got 197 entries for the game, putting the prizes at $82,170 with an additional $19,700 in bounties in the kitty.
So far, the combined prizes for the series are closing in on $300k with just three events in the books, and the Mini Main Event, which logged it’s first flight on Thursday, should put the prizes close to $1 million by the time it’s complete. With the side events to play before Sunday’s Day 2 of the Mini Main, the combined prizes should be well over $1 million by the end of Sunday.
Matthew Robertson is the Black Chip Bounty King

- Date: Oct 1, 11 AM
- Entries: 197
- Prizes: $101,870 ($82,170 in Prizes, $19,700 in Bounties)
- Winner (1st Place): Matthew Robertson ($19,154)
Event #3: $600 NLH Black Chip Bounty ($415 + $100 + $85)
The third Ring of the 2026 WSOP-C Calgary October played out on Thursday in the second day of action here at Deerfoot inn & Casino. The Black Chop Bounty got 197 entries, putting the combined prize pool at more than $100k, with $82,170 reserved for payouts, and $19,700 in bounties in the field.
The game played for around 12 hours on Thursday, with the final hands playing out just before 11 PM. The final table went very quickly, with the players moving to the feature table on the Chrome Room stage for the first time this series at about 9:30 PM, and the game finished about 90 minutes later.
Matthew Robertson built up his stack late on the final table, with runner-up Duong Bach holding the lead in the early stages, and Robertson a bit short-stacked. Jonathan Kozel took a chunk of Bach’s chips just before Kozel his the rail. Robertson started his ascent by sending Colten Yamagishi home in 5th place when his dominated ace got there for hearts against big slick for Yamagishi.
After Parth Patel & Patrick Griffin ended their days, the heads up between Bach & Robertson was set. Robertson had a 2:1 lead to start the heads up. In the final hand, Robertson’s ace-three held against king-jack offsuit for Bach.
This looks to be Robertson’s biggest live score, and just his 3rd entry on Hendon Mob. He seems to like Event #3 as he won the ring here this year in E3, and took 10th place in Event #3 in the Spring Super Stack here earlier in the year, while his first live score came in Event 18 of this year’s January WSOP-C Cal with 66th place in the Double Stack Closer.
