The 2026 World Series of Poker Circuit Calgary is into the final weekend of the October series, with 14 of 18 rings already awarded. The most recent of those rings were won on Friday and Saturday evenings, with the PLO Bounty and HORSE games completing.
The PLO Bounty on Friday night was the biggest one-day field of the series, with 478 entries for combined prizes of $157,740, with nearly $50k of that in the bounty pool. The HORSE game ran in Saturday night, with 74 entries for prizes of $51,540.
While the Main Event is still playing, with 108 players returning for Day 2 from a field of 850, the prizes are in. With the Main Event included, the series prizes are now just shy of $4.4 million, with three more games to add to that total, including the High Roller. The HR prizes are already nearing $150k, with another $120k or more expected from the Freezeout game, and the final Double Stack Closer yet to come on the final day tomorrow.

Andrew Fair Wins PLO Bounty

- Date: Oct 9, 6 PM
- Entries: 478
- Prizes: $157,740 ($109,940 prizes, $47,800 bounties)
- Winner: Andrew Fair ($20,784 + $500 in Bounties)
Event #14: $400 PLO Bounty ($230 + $100 + $70)
It was a bit of a marathon in the PLO Bounty, with the final hands dealt after 6 AM in the poker room, after a forced move from Chrome when the casino floor closed at 6 AM. Andrew Fair had to come from behind to take down the ring, with runner-up Johnny Dalphond in the lead when they moved to the poker room with 2 players remaining.
It was a solid final table that included Fair & Dalphond, as well as Marco Ferrone, who was on his 5th cash and 4th final table of the series, Dean Morrone, Colin Burton, and 2024 & 2025 API Player of the Year winner (and leader of the 2026 race) Mike Malm.
They hit the final table after about 9 hours of play and were down to 4 within about 90 minutes after Mike Malm hit the rail in 5th place. Things stalled a bit then, with the remaining 4 players taking almost 2 hours to finish it out.
Colin Burton, who was on his first of back-to-back final tables, ended his run in 3rd place with 12 bounties to add to his score of nearly $10k. That set up the nearly hour-long heads-up battle for the ring, with Dalphond leading. Fair quickly found a double to the lead and never looked back.
Fair won two big hands with tens in his hand, including the final one. He was up against Dalphond’s ace-queen double suited, and while Dalphond flopped a diamond draw, he bricked the runout to leave Fair’s tens in the lead. Due to the late hour, I wasn’t able to get a proper winner’s photo for Fair.

Fat Wong Dominates Heads-Up to Bag HORSE Ring Over Sebastian Lamprea

- Date: Oct 10, 4 PM
- Entries: 74
- Prizes: $51,430
- Winner (1st Place): Fat Wong ($14,919)
Event #15: $800 H.O.R.S.E. ($695 + $105)
The mixed-game action for WSOP-C Calgary came in the form of a HORSE game on the final Saturday of the series. The game drew 74 entries for prizes of $51,430.
It was a rough night for chip leaders, with the early in-the-money leader, Mike Leah, bubbling the 8-handed final table, the FT leader Eric Tran ending his run in 3rd, and the next chip leader, Calvin Lake, busting for 4th place.
Fat Wong, who didn’t have the lead until very late in the game, just hung around for the pay jumps before finding a sun-run heads-up against Sebastian Lamprea. It was a very solid final table, with Colin Burton (8th) on his second final table in as many nights, as well as Ash Razavi & Kyle Ho all in the mix.
Razavi, who had a 500k+ stack for Day 2 of the Main Event on Sunday, ended his day in 6th place during the Limit Hold ’em round when his eights couldn’t win a race against Lake’s ace-jack. Ho, who was also in Day 2 of the Main, followed him out for 5th place, with Lake and Tran quickly dropping to follow.
That set up the head-to-head between Wong and Lamprea, with Lamprea leading to start. That didn’t last long, however, as Wong seemingly couldn’t lose during the final phase. Whenever there was a showdown, he seemed to have the best of it, with the final hand coming in Limit HE when he flopped a set of treys and had to fade a heart draw for Lamprea.
Wong faded it, and he was holding his first ring in what looks like his second live win.
